Good middle of the road hotel - right on the beach *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Kaanapali Beach Hotel is a smaller hotel for Kaanapali/standards. The hotel consists of an older wing closer to the beach and a newer complex further at the back of the resort. The area was rather spacious, with a small pool and a lot of green lawn. The guests were very mixed, in both the old and the nationality. Since we over Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year there were mostly Japanese and Americans from the mainland, but Europeans as well. The area was very well-kept and we had booked breakfast (breakfast is unfortunately not the European standard).
Location
The Kaanapali Beach hotel is located directly on the sandy beach of Kaanapali. Just a short walk away is the large Whalers Village, a shopping center. Kahului Airport is about 1 hour with the rental car. Lahaina, a beautiful fishing village (with Hard Rock cafe) is about 10 minutes drive away. Restaurants along the beach promenade Kaanapali or in the Whalers Village. At night we went to eat but like to Lahaina. There are actually pretty much everything: Italian, Chinese, Cheesburger in paradise the Hard Rock Cafe,, Buba Gump shrimp, etc.
The staff at the Kaanapali Beach hotel is friendly and helpful. Maid service was good. No one could speak German in the hotel. Additional services were offered, but we didn't use it.
Gastronomy
The Kaanapali Beach Hotel there was a restaurant, the tiki terrace and a bar, the tiki bar (both we didn't visit). The breakfast was in the mixed plates (diner). Breakfast was okay, but not to compare with European standards. There was always toast, the same cold sausage, one sort of cheese and an almost non-edible coffee. The frühstücksatmosphäre was similar to a cafeteria.
Sport & Entertainment
The pool is really small and we did not use it. leisure facilities including snorkeling or diving were offered on the beach, or a kids club is whether there was entertainment, we couldn't say. In our holiday this was not the case. The beach and Mehrwasserqualität was really 1A. Clean sandy beach (chairs you have to pay) and crystal clear sea water, snorkelling! We are not far from the hotel, on the right-hand side direction rocks, swam with massive sea turtles. fascinating!
Room
Our standard room had a normal size. The balcony was addressed in the direction of pool. The room was in the older wing and was also correspondingly decorated. More "old-fashioned" American (? ) Style. There was a large bed, a couch, a desk and chair, an armchair and a small coffee table and two chairs on the balcony and a table. Please note: 100 % smoke-free on the balcony! Moreover, there was a fridge, a safe (which had to be paid extra), a telephone and kettle with a small selection of instant coffee and tea. Everything was not anymore the latest, but in good shape and really clean.
Tips and recommendations
Telephone costs: With your own mobile phone to Germany wouldn't cost the world. Didn't use the hotel phone. Unfortunately, you had to pay extra for the rental car parking ($9 per day). But there are in immediate area, no free private parking, so you're dependent on them. The safe cost extra ($1.50 per day). If you never in America WARD, makes you take a flood of tips. expect so everyone, the only with one hand for you stirred a tip!
