Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Landhouse hotel was a very nice surprise for us. The hotel is atractive, warm, with incredible woodwork inside the dining room and cosy meeting room with a fire place. There is an artistic touch everywhere; in the halls, rooms, dining room and it looks like somebody pays attention to every detail all the time.
The lobby is wellcoming, furnished with taste. The hotel has around 50 rooms and WLAN internet.
The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed. Staff and the owners were very friendly and helpfull. They met all our requirements and made us feel sincerely cared for.
Location
St. Georg landhouse is situated at the hill on the edge of the Gröbming. The nearest ski area is Galsterberg and is only 5 min drive from it. The Hauser Kibling which connects to Schladming is 10 min drive from the hotel.
During the summer the valey offers many possibilities e.g. bicking, hiking, golf...
The staff is very helpfull and kind. We comunicate in English and we were well understood.
Gastronomy
Altought we were very happy with every little detail of the hotel, the gastronomy was real positive surprise and absolute highlight. Food is simply excelent with invoative but delicious combinations and tastes.
There is a choice of two menus, one with meet and one with fish or some vegeterian dish. If one doesn't fancy what is on the menu, one can choose from a la carte menu, which we didn't try as the menus offered were excelent.
The owner herself proposed us best wine that goes with the food from really rich winecard.
The salad bar which is also the starter was every night different and offered more than merely salads.
Self-service breakfast is reach and offers all varieties of food, several kinds of delikatesses and a good choice of bread, cereals and fresh fruit. There was also a lot of different tea tastes to choose from.
The friendly staff is all the time around replacing empty trays with the fresh food and if one prefers other than scrumbled eggs, they make it the way one wishes.
Sport & Entertainment
For this size of the hotel the wellness department is very good. The pool is not very big but big enough to give the oppurtunity for recreative swiming. There are four types of sauna: finnland, steam, infrared and tapidarium. It was clean and everything functioned well.
Rest area is cosy. Attractive is the exit to the small outdoor atrium, where you can cool with the snow.
Room
Our room was spacey, warm, furnished with a good taste. It offered us all the comfort we needed. Plasma TV, telephone, two comfortable armchairs, small table for writting, large bathroom and big wardrobe. Bathroom was clean, with big bath and all accesories including hairdryer. The room was spotles.
