Elegant and friendly hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe chose to stay in the Beau Rivage for a short holiday in January with our 20 year old son and my 79 year old mother and booked bed/breakfast. Everyone was happy to be here. We had beautiful rooms with views over the mountains. The bathrooms were a little old-fashioned and the over-bath shower made life difficult for my mother, who would have found a walk-in shower easier.
Location
The Beau Rivage is ideally situated close to the station and in a quiet location by the river. Parking was no problem and the town centre a short walk away.
The staff were friendly and efficient. Advice for good places to eat was readily offered and accurate.
Gastronomy
Breakfast was great, with a wide selection of food on offer. The "International" menu in the restaurant was rather too fancy for us and we found it rather expensive. We preferred to take a walk each evening and visit a local restaurant offering more traditional Swiss menu. The bar was often empty and lacked atmosphere.
Sport & Entertainment
There was an excellent spa and swimming pool on offer but we did not make use of it.
Room
Everything one would expect of a 5* hotel, all in good condition and well maintained. Room was spotlessly clean.
Tips and recommendations
We would visit the Beau Rivage again without hesitation. We had a marvellous stay there.
