Main Plaza - my favorite hotel in Frankfurt am Main! *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AIf, then get a room with a view of the Main, respectively the skyline (10.3/10.5/16.4/11.3) - super view!
Because of soundproof windows heavenly sleeping pleasure in the big, comfortable beds.
Small reception area, small elevators, small corridors but then entering the room at the latest (first class, junior suite or suite) the WOW-experience followed. Loads of space, unique in Frankfurt at these prices! 50-92 square meters depending upon the category (First Suite). Great!
Location
Directly at the Main in the former slaughterhouse quarter which had been completely converted - it's called Florentini district now. 7 minutes to the Äppelwoi Desperado. The RMV was nearby (5 minutes to the local station or 8 minutes to the north S-Bahn, Ostendstrasse. 3 minutes away to the tram). Tengelmann was around the corner. A taxi from the main station to the hotel was under 10 Euros at night.
Very nice, decent and personal welcome. And check out also. They read out loud the items on your room bill and explained them to you if need be. House keeping was good, at the moment renovation works were going on and/or they offered to change rooms (February). They answered and/or took care of complaints and reclamations personally (only small things such as a loose shower fittings, burned-out bulbs, not enough coffee for free).
Gastronomy
Meals/breakfast in the room: It depended on the mood of the day. In principle, the quality and the service of the room service were very good. There were anomalies at the breakfast in the room, we had no complaints about the dinner, the quality of the dishes was very good, the price unfortunately also! The food/breakfast (scrambled eggs) were partly a bit cold - therefore, the kitchenette with microwave was great at first class.
Sport & Entertainment Unused
Room
Had booked First Class/Junior Suite and/or a suite several times. Had simply booked The Run of The House several times and yet received First Class and once a junior suite with almost 60 sqm - the space available at FFM is exhilarating and unique. Marble bathroom with bathtub + sink and/or additional shower. Very good! Heated mirror in the bathroom. Many bath towels, shower gel etc., available. Very good!
Bathrobe and slippers in the closet when one booked First Class and upwards. A kettle for coffee/tea was available, rooms with a small kitchen included an additional dinette and a large refrigerator with freezer compartment. Tableware, glasses, etc. Great: turn-down service for preparation of the beds in the evening.
Tips and recommendations
TIP 1: book half board directly from the Lindner where you really got the most current prices.
TIP 2: Hotel “disturbers” were kept away by the do not disturb sign - just hang it on the door and lock it from the inside and then really nobody disturbed you!
Price/performance: very good at weekends, respectively long weekend, otherwise high or adequate.
