Very large but recommended *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel was meanwhile 9 years old, very large, had more than 2000 beds but was clean and well-kept.
More than 50% of the guests were German, you could only book half board at most.
Location
The hotel had the best location in Meloneras. Both the beach and all shopping possibilities, bus stop, taxi were in the immediate vicinity. There were problems with free parking spaces. You often only found this in a 1 kilometers distance.
Service quality on a high level. All employees at the reception spoke international languages. Daily room cleaning but at changing times.

I can't confirm the often stated criticism of the quality of the buffets at balanced
examination. The choice and quality corresponted to a 4 stars standard. Those who thought the dishes weren't warm enough could choose heated plates (Please note: Only touch them with napkin). The drink prices were reasonable (large bottle of water cost 1.70 euros, beer 3 euros, small bottle of wine 7 euros). You paid with your own hotel card
(which was a room key at the same time). The only deficiency: The coffee was not warm enough in the Thermos pot and from the dispenser. The only alternative: Choose hot water from the dispenser and soluble coffee (only decaffeinated in the hotel).
Sport & Entertainment
The free activities were very extensive (including Taiji, soft gym). The free gym in the basement next to the tennis courts was very spacious but the devices for the stamina training were missing
(with exception of a stepper - but neither elliptical trainer nor spinner). You had to go to the spa area for 7 € a day. You can't add much to the descriptions of the pool gardens. Unique!
Room
The standard rooms were furnished well with marble on the floor and in the bathroom. Nice loggias. About 25 square meters large. As often in Spain, it had a fastened wall shower but it was still comfortable. TV with lots of international channels. The safe cost about 40 euros for 2 weeks. You needed a little bit of luck at the choice of the room. Due to the size of the gardens, the hotel was relatively far away from the streets on all sides.
Tips and recommendations
I can't recommend the possibility to eat in the hotel Vistamar once a week. There was a beautiful ocean view but the 4 course menu was disappointing for us. From the two selectable restaurants Atlantico or Almeda I would recommend the Almeda (smaller, furnished more loosely with a beautiful garden view when you sat outdoors).
