Expensive hotel, but only average *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe stayed for two nights at the MGM. We got for the first night (more expensive!) not the room we had booked (strip view), but ended up on the ground floor in a modern, but small room with a view of a grey wall. Therefor was the price/performance ratio really sucks. In the second night we got our room with a 'strip-view'. Compared to hotels of the same category, not directly on the strip, but rather shabby we found the room and small. The buffet (breakfast, lunch, dinner) is really fancy wide, but also therefor fancy expensive (about $20 per person), and the quality was just okay. An advantage is, of course, the direct location on the strip. But also of hotel, not directly on the strip, within easy reach by bus or car, and the price/performance ratio is much better. On my next stay in Las Vegas we would definitely get a hotel, which is not directly on the strip.
