Hurry to the Continental Hurghada !

This hotel excelled in cleanliness every where from the rooms to the beach and gardens were spotless
The food was of good quality but not always to our taste and on discussing with the head chef that the lamb at one evening meal had been tough he immediatley put this to right and also cooked a special meal of fillet steak the next evening for us! Nagga the executive head chef and his colleagues did all they could to ensure we enjoyed the food during our stay -often making notes on what we liked and certain tastes of food They were catering for many different nationalities but one only had to ask for a particular food and they would try to accomadate our preference. If I had had young children with us I did feel that some of the food would not have been their choice and things like pizzia baked beans or french fries would have been more to the liking of children but that is not to say that this would need to be every meal as healthy options of fruit and vegetables, pasta and fish and chicken were also available every day
We had gone all inclusive but found that on ordering food out side of the general restaurant there was a charge for this -this was one area that lets down the hotel as when all inclusive in most hotels we have visited one is able to have a snack or sandwich type meal in the bars or at the side of the pool with out being charged
The all inclusive drinks started at 11am until 11 pm and this was again a small irritation when on a late arrival having to pay for a drink when having travelled a long way and that on check out at 12 midday food and drinks were not part of the deal regardless of what time you would be leaving the hotel Most bars now stay open until midnight and feel that this is the norm for most people when on holiday and thta food and drink for all inclusive should extend until the time of departure from the hotel

The hotel and beach area were extremely good and felt safe in the complex and the area immediatley out side of the hotel
It was close to the airport and on my next trip would recommend taking a taxi rather than waiting for the bus to drop us off
This trip was about relaxing so did not do any excursions but spent a day on a boat to go snorkling and thouroughly enjoyed the day -it was fantastic to see so much of the red sea coral and different species of fish -the staff on the boat were extremely active in making it a special day to remember

We found the service excellent in all areas of the hotel and in particular the Captains bar which is managed by Mahmoud and his team this was run like a ship, nothing was too much trouble and also refreshing in that no one expected a tip to get you a snack or a drink( In our vast experience of travel and staying in all inclusive hotels we often find that to get a waiters attention one has to be waving money at them) -this is certainly not the case in the
Continental hotel -but when we find this kind of good service we always ensure that we tip individuals to show appreciation and also to reward the extra lengths some people go to make our stay special This is one of the hotels whose service and the enjoyable experience will ensure our return to the Continental in the future

As I have stated earlier the food was varied and plentiful the staff always going the extra mile to ensure we had what we wanted and to provide for our taste.The reataurant was spotless and any food spillage was immediatley cleaned -cuisine was of Egyptian, Mediterrainean, Western and Slavic tastes
Bread was all home baked on the premises and the soups were fabulous! I would have liked to have cheese ad biscuits instead of sweet deserts but was made aware that if I had asked for them it would have been possible I did mention that maybe having staff responsible for certain areas of the restaurant would provide better service for residents and and one could get to know the the staff members more -this would help when wanting to tip individuals for good service and also for staff becoming more fluent in language and peoples preferences


Sport & Entertainment

Not really had much to do with sporting activities but did enjoy the beach area -pool was fine but at certain times when water polo was on difficult to enjoy the pool
Entertainment was very much the same most evenings but we did enjoy the company and the belly dancing most evenings
Sunbeds were getting a little worn on some of them -but clean towels were available every day with sunscreens around parts of the beach to ensure shade in the hot sun

the room was great spacious and clean -over looking the sea and it was wonderful to wake up each day with the sun coming up through our patio door -we had a good spacious balcony -tea and coffee making facilities (though often had to ask for milk or creamer for the room)
fridge and minibar Satellite flat screen tv Beds were fabulous and so comfortable I wanted to bring mine back home! the pillows and bedding were of good quality -Bathroom was great and had a bath and shower -this is some thing I appreciate as love to have a soak at the end pf the day but a shower in the mornings


Tips and recommendations

The area of internet cafe was an area that need to be kept up to as this quiet area was neglected and often when on the internet checking emails I found had been bitten by mosquitos -
One other thing that was that one could not always obtain diet drinks and as part of my diet require this
Also did not like the thick plasic wine glasses in the beach bar or pool area -I realise that these areas need for them to be plastic but woud prefer a thinner plasic glass
