Mövenpick Resort & Spa Karon Beach Phuket

Located in Karon Beach, about 45 minutes drive from the airport. Lots of excellent shopping locally and just a quick tuk-tuk or taxi drive away is the shopping paradise of Patong. Lots to see sightseeing - Big Budda, Phuket Fantasea etc. Speedboat trip to Phi Phi Island is a must.

Can't rate the staff highly enough - always friendly, polite and happy. Room was clean and housekeeping would also do an afternoon round to check your supplies were kept up to date.

The resort has 5 restaurants and the swim up Pool Bar, at which light snacks are also available. Cuisine available varies from Wood fired Pizzas in the Sand Bar, up to Steaks in El Gaucho and Traditional Thai food in OrientAsia. The Pacifica Restaurant is the setting for the sumptuous buffet breakfast. The Kinnaree Bar serves alcohol as well as a light menu. Room service is very reasonably priced and the food was delicious.

Movenpick has 3 swimming pools, the main pool includes a swim up bar and water slide and areas set aside particularly for children. There are Life Guards on duty daily at the two larger pools. Plenty of sun beds and umbrellas surround the pools. Beach type towels are also provided. There is a large Kids Entertainment play zone which caters for children up to 12 years of age. Movenpick also has great facilities such as: Diving Centre, Game Lounge, Tennis Court, Fitness Centre and a Spa Centre.

We stayed in a Deluxe Ocean View Room which was supplied with the most comfortable King size bed, as well as a single bed. Bathroom has the shower over the bath. Room is supplied with a flat screen TV, mini bar, safe, telephone, air conditioning and was very clean. The balcony has its own furniture and was a very pleasant place to sit in the evenings and watch the sun set.

We travelled to Phuket in September and while we did get a couple of days where it rained, we were still able to get out and about and enjoy ourselves. Do yourself a favour and make sure you book a speedboat ride to PhiPhi Island as it was the highlight of our holiday. The staff of the Movenpick were absolutely wonderful; always smiling and friendly. We would not hesitate in recommending this superb resort to anyone. We are looking forward to our next visit .
