THe Beau Site is located in the best position in Zermatt, and being elevated, enjoys the sun on it all day long.
THe hotel is large but not too large and has a dominant location overlooking Zermatt. It is always immaculately clean and has been upgrading all of it's facilities over the last few years making it the best hotel in Zermatt.
The service matches it's appearance yet is extremely friendly and relaxed. The guests come form all over the world to this fabulous hotel, to be pampered and spoilt by the staff.

The Beau Site site on an elevated position overlooking the whole of Zermatt, and enjoys the sun on it's elevations all day long.
The location is central to the village and is only a short walk to the bus stop, which takes you to the Klein Matterhorn lift, the Sunnegga lift station, or to the Gornergrat station.
Alternatively, you can walk up to the centre of the village in just a few minutes form the hotel. The shopping possibilities are endless in Zermatt.

From the moment you are collected by Emilio at the station and taken to the hotel, you are greeted by very friendly and efficient reception staff. They are fluent in many languages and you immediately know that in this hotel, nothing is too much trouble.
My rooms have always been kept spotlessly clean and fresh, with any bathroom products replaced everyday.

In this hotel you are seriously spoilt !

Gastronomy

The Beau Site has one of the most enviable reputations for it's food and the high quality of it's food.
Starting with breakfast, you are greeted by a huge buffet, with fruit juices, breads, teas, coffees, cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, cereals, mueslis, etc and not to forget the champagne - the best way to start your day skiing !

Evening dinner is another gastronomic feast, where you can enjoy everything on the menu if you can manage this, and after some hard days skiing, it is actually possible. The staff are more than happy to bring you extra portions if that is what you wish.

Their Bordeaux wines are very good value for money - I had a bottle of Chateaux Palmer that was less expensive at the Beau Site that to buy in London.

Then of course you have the speciality evenings, the Gala dinner and the Grill Night - make plenty of room for these, or you will regret it !

Dinning gets no better than it does at the Beau Site !

The wellness area has been refurbished a couple of years ago and has superb views form the pool, jacuzzis and the loungers over the Matterhorn. A great way to relax at the end of a hard day's skiing.

There are also saunas, steam rooms and a brand new beauty treatment area which has recently been finish and from the outside, looks to be very well appointed.

THese facilities are very well used by all the guests, which is good to see.

My room this time was overlooking the town from the back of the new Chalet annex. It was large and very comfortable with patio doors giving a commanding view over the town form the third floor.

There was a coffee machine that grinds up the beans for you to make an extra fresh cup of coffee if you so desire and a fridge for drinks.

The bathroom was very well equipped and well stocked as normal with soaps, and other toiletries.

THe room had a large tv together with a large sofa and chairs.

Tips and recommendations

I always book direct - why pay far more for less via a tour operator ?

The Beau Site has an improved wifi access code system now which is far easier to input. For convenience i go during Beau Site the ski weeks when the ski pass and ski hire are included which just makes everything that much easier and less to worry about.

This time the weather was sunny for the first five days then the snow arrived and despite some lifts being closed due to the high winds and the huge amount of snow, the skiing was totally amazing ! Thigh deep powder in places on the steep runs !
