Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AOne could tell one was dealing with a hotel run by the owner. The size of the hotel area was pleasant (not a mountain of beds + not an extensive, divided pool/garden area), very clean, very well-kept, constant maintenance, a good, rich breakfast and dinner buffet (something for every taste), a large terrace in the shade with seaview (so that one always got a seat to eat outdoors), a mixture of guests (starting in their twenties to end 70 + small children; German, Swiss, British, Russian).
Location
For all those looking for peace and quiet, the location was absolutely great. At night, one only heard the crashing of the waves - provided that one slept with the balcony door open. A small sandy beach directly beside the hotel (we didn't go there), 2 minutes to the next supermarket (fruit, mineral water, etc), close to the southern coastal road and the highway (around 5 minutes away by car), therefore optimal for hiking tours to Teide, the Masca gorge, etc.
A diret view of the sea, sea and more sea.
Besides speaking Spanish, very many employees also spoke German and/or English. At first we had a room close to the bar (outdoor) and were able to change to a room at the other end (quiet) without any difficulties. However, we didn't know on the first day that the evening music could only be heard until max. 8:30 p.m. Afterwards, the band/music/programme was relocated indoors.
Gastronomy
A very good, diversified breakfast and dinner buffet. Everything was always set up very appealingly. Empty dishes/platters were imsmediately refilled. The only thing missing was somewhat more fresh fruit at the breakfast buffet. Most of the fruit here came out of cans.
Sport & Entertainment
Here, we only used one part of the "fitness torture chamber" (stationary bike + treadmill + rowing machine), to prevent putting on too many pounds from the diverse and good food offered.
Both pools were situated with a fantastic view of the sea. If one swam in the salt water pool, one had such a view of the water that one could think one was swimming in the sea.
Sufficient and very comfortable beach chairs and sunshades were available. However, here too, the bad (German?) habit of reserving beach chairs with towels starting at 7 a.m. was also prevalent.
Room
Very large, with a vestibule (would keep noise at bay, if necessary), walk-in closet, free safe.
Each balcony had 2 beach chairs, a table with 2 chairs and the possibility to hang washing to dry.
Tips and recommendations
We had rented a car so that we could go to the start of the hiking trails comfortably. However, a public bus (#472 to Costa Adeje) also passed directly in front ot the hotel and there was a free bus to the sister hotel in Costa Adeje.
