SENTIDO Cala Vinas Hotel

It was directly by the ocean, fantastic view out of all rooms.
The most beautiful view was on the upper floors (8-12) in the centre. Our room was in the 10th floor. Sea view and view to the pool. Fantastic! On the side, you could see the bay Cala Vinas. Shopping and entertainment possibilities were near, but there wasn't much going on. Only very few pubs. But it only took us 5 minutes to Magaluf with the taxi. Excursions should be booked.

The staff was rather down-to-earth and didn't banter.
The cleanness in the dining room was on a very good level. The tables were always cleared quickly. The rooms were very clean.
The receptionists were rather focused.

The quality of the meals was more like in a 3 star hotel.
Not very much choice. Especially the desserts were nothing special. Always puddings, creams and two cakes, which were always the same ones. The buffet was rather plain.
It had the atmosphere of a cantina.
The dining room wasn't newly renovated and had dark furniture.
Whereas you had a great view at the windows.

I can't say anything about the entertainment, we never used it.
The pool was very clean and big, but the water was much colder than in the ocean, we hardly ever used it. The pool chairs around the pool were very close together, since there was no garden area around the hotel.
There were only very few umbrellas, some of them were also broken.
So, one had to reserve one early to get some shade.
The bay was very beautiful and the ocean was very quiet and nearly always clear.
Unfortunately, it rained a lot during the two weeks we were there. After the rain, it got a bit dull for a short time. The small beach section was well looked after and there were enough pool chairs. However, I wouldn't go there during peak season, e.g. during school holidays. Then it probably gets overcrowded and very busy.

Big and very beautifully renovated rooms. Light-colored wood. Much storage capacity in the cupboards.
Air-conditioning worked well. The bathroom was very spacious and offered much space to put things there. Flat screen TV.
Unfortunately, the safe wasn't included. We had to pay 22 euros a week. The balcony was also big enough and had a round table and two chairs and offered a marvellous view to the ocean.

Valdemossa - the stay at the sightseeing tour of the island only lasted about 1 hour. That was a pity! That town should be visited of one's own bat for at least half a day. Very good shopping possibilities.
Comfortable sidewalk cafes and restaurants.
