SENTIDO Jacaranda Hotel

The ocean beach was about 400 meters far. The hotel is located in a really pleasant and green area in Playe de Fanabe. There are a lot of other hotels in the neighbourhood. The hotel is surrounded by a lot of green plants, palm trees, cacti, flowers. The Airport (Tenerife Sur) is about 30 minutes and can be reached on motorway. There are a lot of shopping facilities around, the Fanabe Plaza small shopping center with Spar supermarket is in front of the hotel, and within walking distance there are other shops, supermarkets as well. The market of Costa Adeje (on Saturday and Thursday) is about 10 minutes to walk, by the bus terminal. Some meters from the hotel entrance there is a bus station, for example local buses to Los Cristianos stop here (1 ticket cost 1, 30 EUR), and the guided tours pick up their clients here as well.

The hotel staff was really professional, but also very friendly and helpful. We had some problems with the air-conditioning system one evening and their came to help us immediately. We had no language problems, the receptionists spoke both well in English and Italian. What was an extra advantage was that we could get our room very early in the morning (at 7 a. m.) after travelling a lot during the night as our plane arrived so early. There was a car rental as well there but their prices were too high compared to the competitors.

The food was really great and delicious. We asked for half-pension, but the majority of the guests were on all inclusive service. There was a really wide range of buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. For breakfast they offered 5-6 kinds of hot meals (English breakfast), a lot of salads, fruits and ccokies. For dinner there was a big variety of salads, 2 kinds of soups, 6-8 main dishes with meat or fish, and 3 kinds of traditional Spanish/Canarian meals. They also offered 6-7 kinds of dessert (cookies, cake, ice cream, puding) and cheese. A bottle of drink cost 2 EUR (minerals water or soft drinks), 1 bottle of wine 8-10 EUR. The restaurant was very clean. The staff was very polite and helpful. There was a bar in the hotel as well which was open till midnight and another open bar on the 5th floor by the pools.

There were 2 swimming pools (1 of them heated) downstairs in the garden, and 2 other ones on the 5th floor of the hotel. Around the pools there were severals sunbeds and parasols (for free). The hotel organized animation programs for children and other shows for adults (like bingo, product demonstrations). There is a small playground for children in the hotel. There are a lot of services in the hotel: billiards, aquafitness, internet, sauna. The main attraction in the hotel is the waterfall, which is 5 storey high and it is located by the pools.

The room was comfortable and normal sized, it was very appropriate for 2 persons. The furniture was OK as well, nothing special, in reality. The beds were really large. The bathroom was OK as well. Everything was really clean and hygienic and gave the regular small shower gels, shampoos and soaps. The towels were changed regularly. A cosy balcony with 2 chairs and a table belonged to the room which looked to the swimming pool. (Our room was in E building Room No. 451). There was air-condition in the room but we did not use it.

This hotel was a really good experience for us, I was very pleased to stay there a week. We rented a car from Orcar via internet (Category B was 76 EUR for 4 day) and traveled a lot. We went through the whole island (Teide National Park, Anaga Mountains, NW/ Masca, Buenavista, Grachico, Pyramids of Güimar...). The most famous beach in Tenerife is Las Tereesita beach which is covered with sand from the Sahara desert. We went to visit Loro Parque with a local travel agency which cost 35 EUR (the entrance fee to Loro Parque is 31 EUR that was included in this prices).
