Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe have booked the hotel as package in connection with a subsequent cruise on the Explorer of the Seas. The equivalent of a 3.5 star business hotel, nothing more or less. We were in January in New York and then in mid Manhattan. On our next visit we would prefer a hotel right in Manhattan. Central, if you live maybe more expensive.
Location
The hotel is directly across the street from Manhattan on the other side of the Hudson River in New Jersey. The setting is spectacular, half industrial, half residential area. Around the corner is a small shopping center, the but we didn't go there.
The service in the restaurant/breakfast area was good, the staff friendly. Upon check-in at the front desk seemed a little overwhelmed the desk clerk. We were a group already before arrival check in and this, he could start nothing. It took a bit to the supervisor asked and it so long waits to unnecessary. Also when we asked to ferry tickets, we got the answer that there were no more tickets. After a half hour later at another worker who asked, there was still sudden tickets.

There is an Italian restaurant, where you can have your breakfast. In our package included breakfast included. You could go to the buffet, selection was good.

Room
We had a large business room on the 3rd floor. Floor with two double beds, flat screen TV, a telephone, desk and seating area with a side view of Manhattan. The bathroom (with bath) was relatively small, but adequate for a short stay. Very pleasant was the Starbucks coffee maker in the room. The air conditioner was very loud and difficult to regulate. at night We have just finally unplugged it.
Tips and recommendations
The landing stage for the NY Waterway Ferry is located right in front of the hotel. In about 5 minutes. You are in Midtown / W 39th Street. From therebuses were free to all the important in Manhattan's shops. The tickets on the New Jersey side is Blackout outlets, also in the hotel itself, on board is not a lift tickets are sold. However, there are on Manhattan side Verkaufsschalter. The price is around US$8.00 each way. Please note: The ferry is only available on a Monday to Friday, times every half an hour. A good alternative is bus number 185, and the bus stop is just around the corner from the hotel. The bus goes around in the Lincoln Tunnel into Manhattan, the terminus is the large Port Authority bus terminal, 42nd Street. Takes about 10 minutes. Tickets on the bus. For the return trip you need to buy tickets at the bus terminal.
