Good hostel for those on a city break with visa service *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe were looking for a place to stay in Lhasa without conditions and, above all, someone, with Tibet visa, guide and Zugkarten T27-for the train could provide. We got the 'secret' as Sonam tip. We had about four weeks contact with the very good English speaking front desk and they made us a package. The special thing was, that they should organize from train tickets to Lhasa, but in Beijing had to provide (to enter). Everything worked! The suggestion (in Lhasa compulsory) guide was also very good. The hostel, a member of the Association, hi) is tucked away in the second row pulled, without driving directions with the guide (from the train station Lhasa pick you up), we would not have found it. It is located in the newer part of Lhasa under construction, but you can tell that nothing, if you are in the inner courtyard arrive. The rooms for'Western' are very large. We were also glad about the good bathrooms (after two days train ride). With the taxi is for 5 euros in the hot spot of Lhasa, the Potala Palace, 15 minutes walk faster alternative. Within walking distance were commodities and various banks reachable. The kitchen is quite small, well arranged, is served in the front desk area (in the typical hostel side lounge area). The guests were to our surprise, despite the very good drafting of the hostel for international guests, only Chinese. Small groups and families, which, in our view, priority Dorming -room slept in. The Sonam youth hostel was invaluable part and a major anchor in our china trip organize. For us it was not easy to find someone, the room for the two of us and, above all, the Tibet permission tickets worried without even strong to want.
