Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe spent a prolonged weekend – from 6th to 9th October 2011 in the Sporthotel Dachstein West in Annaberg, Lammertal. We were very satisfied with everything.
The hotel reception, longue and restaurant are on the ground floor, rooms are on 3 floors and the hotel has a lift. The room key also opens the main and side door so you are independent to come any time you like.
Location
The hotel is very practically located in the centre of Annaberg, so we did not waste time, we drove to the surrounding attraction quite comfortably in a short time. The car park is about 50m from the hotel with no problem to find a free place. The nearest shop is on the other side of the road, the tourist info centre and the ski lift is about 5 minutes of walking.
The staff we met was very friendly and helpful in everything. The room service was regular and well done. Thanks for such a good work. The staff speaks very good English so we did not have any problem.

Gastronomy
The food served for breakfasts and dinners was delicious and tasty. We mainly appreciated the taste of coffee, simply perfect! Every meal was fresh and neatly displayed. The desserts were fantastic.
Sport & Entertainment
We are the tourists who can spend interesting time even if the weather is not ideal in the sense of saying "There is not bad weather, only you are not dressed properly". We saw beautiful nature spots.
The weather was not perfect (a bit foggy in the mornings and drizzling during a day) but we saw pretty many things - salt mines, the river canyon, caves and deep gorges but also breathtaking peaks of the Alps and nearby Salzburg (42km). We have about 500 photos. To sum up - we had a perfect time.
Room
As for our room with balcony - it was practically furnished and big enough to unpack our luggage, to move around and to relax after out long trips. Our beds were comfortable. We had lovely little shower, local radio to listen to and about 9 TV channels.
Tips and recommendations
We stayed only 4 days, which is quite short time, but our impression is that the hotel is a small well-maintained and cosy place with good attention to details. It is very clean, tastefully designed and spacious enough for pleasant and relaxing stay. We recommend the hotel to anyone who does not want to sit in it all the day, who loves nature and active relax - it is about 5 minutes of walking and you are out of the centre and can explore nature. It is a perfect place for a relaxing stay for good value of money.
