Fantastic place for a quiet mountain hoilday
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe have been returning to the hotel and its campsite for 14 years.
The hotel is excellent, very clean and the staff very friendly.
The food in the hotel bar/restaurant is excellent and we cannot fault it.
There is also a campsite adjoining the hotel which is also an excellent standard. It is surrounded by mountains and a stream. The facilities are some of the best we have used.
We will certainly be back again year after year.
Location
Engelberg village is a 30 minute walk from the hotel, or a couple of minutes on the free bus service that runs from the railwaystation to the Furnalp cablecar.
There is a shopping centre in Stans which is a 30 minute car journey down the mountain.
The service and friendliness of the staff is top class. They speak a number of languages. Their English is very good, I have also heard the staff speaking french and dutch.
Gastronomy
The food is excellent. Breakfast is served as a buffet and has a large variety. The food in the bar/restaurant is also excellent and cannot be faulted
Sport & Entertainment
The hotel is a spa hotel with massage, sauna and a variety of other health treatments available.
The pool is beautiful with a steam room and ambient cave.
Room
The rooms are a good size with a TV, very comfortable clean beds, most rooms have balconys over looking beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Al lrooms have a mini bar.
