Steigenberger Hotel Golf Resort

Too bad that the hotel wasn't located on the beach. And the beach was anything but nice. I love beaches, we only went there twice, because it really wasn't nice there.
But the tuc-tuc tour to El Gouna was super funny. Once in the evening we went to El Gouna downtown, not lots of shopping opportunities but okay. The marina was also were nice.
The shuttle bus which went to the beach was very well organized. Like everything in this hotel. There was nothing left to be desired.
The transfer from the airport to the hotel and back again also worked without any problems. There were several opportunities to go on excursions. The dolphin house was very nice, you could go snorkeling and if you got lucky you could see lots of dolphins. Don't book the exursions with the travel agent, it's too expensive. The offers in the hotel or at the marina were better.

The staff was the nicest ever!! THEY WERE JUST GREAT AND SUPER NICE. We got really lucky with Yousry and Mahmoud (the short guy with the glasses), who cried when we went back home. They were alll super nice. All of the spoke English and lots of them also a little bit German.
When we had problems (especially I) with the stomach, we got yellow pills at the reception and then I felt very well again soon! They really cared and asked all the time if you felt better. My husband could also once take some food to our room for me, because one evening I didn't want to go down to dinner. No problem at all.

The food was actually quite good, but I must have eaten something that either wasn't good anymore or that didn't agree with me! But I was only sick for one day in 2 weeks!
There was also a à la carte restaurant, but unfortunately it was closed during our stay, as there were not enough guests. There was a differnt buffet every night, always dishes typical for a country. Once German/Swiss, then French, Indian, Oriental, BBQ etc... so there was something for everybody.
As we had booked all inclusive everything was included and we got more than enough!! :-) We often tipped our 2 waiters and they thanked us about a thousand times and the service got better and better every day, though it was super right from the beginning. :-)

We were mostly at the pool in the back by the block 8. As it was very quiet and there were practically no guests. We got very lucky with the bartender Alah! He was great and also very nice.
The beach was, like I said, not worth seeing. The many kite surfers were great!
Pool was very clean as everything else in this hotel too.

Super tip: Treat yourself with a whole body massage in the health club, it was divine! And very cheap! They offered buy one get one free! As there were not so many guests. But it was just perfect, I had never had such a great massage before. (And I had had lots :-)). So it is highly recommendable. The health club was located on the golf course in the same building as the golf club!
Also highly recommendable is the sauna and the bathing area there, great.

Just perfect! I don't have to say more about it!

Our tip: Book right away and enjoy! It was wonderful, we will come back.
