Beautiful hotel with little failing
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe stayed in this very nice hotel for one week. We have chosen the Steigenberger Nile Palace for our stay in Luxor because of our good experience with other Steigenberger Hotels around the world.
When we arrived, we were welcomed with a nice drink and the reception tried their best to manage our requests as professional as possible and in a quick as possible way, even if their english was not so good as we expected it.
Since we are not the for the first time in egypt and Luxor, we thought,the good standards, for example of the Al Dhau Beach would be found here as well, but we were a little bit disappointed.
We had a very nice room. Cleanlyness there was o.k.
But to our distress there was no german-language trained staff, forget about german staff as in Al Dhau in the front, so our not so good trained english was not really sufficient to solve our issues always.
Our concerns about food anyway were unnecessary, as the food was both excellent and very hygienic, so we not even got the usual egypt belly....here we found at least one member of the management which could help us with our questions.
However, it might be our mistake to travel to this hotel or maybe it is the relaxed british way, but we found the service uncompareable to any of our former experiences. Started from the breakfast, where “waiters were uninterested in guests and spotty tablecloths to really funny cocktails (they changed them with every order in the composing) and a way of service in the bars, which you would expect in a “Kneipe”, but not in a 5 star hotel.
Apart from that downer we enjoyed the temples and the unique situation in this fabolous town and their friendly people more or less for ourselves. And also we enjoyed the relaxation at the wonderful pool. The weather was beautiful and the sun sets on the felluca terrasse did their best to make us wish to come back soon. We hope, till then there will be some changes in service quality, otherwise we see the company Steigenberger loose some of their credibility, which they are famous for, good attentive service and a perfect product.
