New year's Eve in Potsdam *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe new year in Potsdam spent. Since we at short notice for a journey had decided, I decided to book the hotel due to the reasonable 'sanssouci' supply. We had booked a standard room with breakfast for two nights. The hotel lies in the reviewer, the leisure activity options at all. To the left of the hotel is about 20 steps away and kept the the (Potsdam) Brandenburg gate. Behind the gate the Brandbenburger street begins, a large mall with Karstadt, H&M and CO as well as numerous cafes and bars. To the right of the hotel could be reached in about 150 meters the gate to the sanssouci park. From there it is only a short walk through the park to the palace. The small street in front of the hotel was low traffic and very quiet. The check-in went very quickly on the day of arrival. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and answered all questions regarding accessibility of various district sights. Our room was on the fourth floor facing the street. Due to the high floor, we had a nice view. For our little trip was the size of the room was big enough. It had a wardrobe for coats, a closet with a part for hanging and a part of the beach chairs. An LCD tv was on a dresser with a mini bar and further opportunity to file. A desk was on in the room. The mattresses of the double beds were very soft. The bathroom was spacious. It had a toilet, sink, mirror and shower. Ways to counter was missing here. In addition we had a balcony, although the standard room is not recorded. The room was very clean and comfortable. To the elevator it was not far. The breakfast was very delicious. There was everything the heart could desire. Hot and cold dishes, a variety of breads and bread rolls, jams and spreads, fruit, vegetables, fish, yogurts and Quark, fruit juices... Coffee and specialty coffees could the staff without extra charge be ordered. From the hotel we could reach everything on foot. New year's Eve celebrated first in the restaurant 'hundertwasser', where it was a nice buffet. Then we walked to the sanssouci Palace, for us to see the fireworks. It was a beautiful evening. The hotel we can highly recommend. It offers, in order to visit Potsdam. If you want to spend the new year, should in time, in order to attend an event, we were very late and had to look around for long.
