Steigenberger Hotel al Dau Club

This is a four star hotel but not a luxury four star. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was well cooked and well presented but not to my taste. The hotel is well kept and very clean as are the rooms and the pool areas. It is literaly a 4 minute walk to the beach and the beach is nicely kept too as is the little cafe on the beach. the staff are nice and very helpful and friendly. The spa is basic but nice.

This hotel has a sister hotel across the road which is a five star luxury hotel. This is where the beach is.

I was very ill while there whilst at the beach and the beach cafe staff and hotel staff were brilliant. There is a surgery and doctor on call in both hotels. they took me to the closest which was the "Beach Hotel" I cannot fault the care they gave me and the care and concern they all continued to show for the rest of my holiday.

The majority of guestst were russian, german and local egyptians.

Hurghada is in the middle of a huge development so parts of it are a complete building site, especailly Hurghada old town. Our resort and hotel was finished and fine, but Hurghad old town is a building site. There are no pavements just rubble next to the road side. I found some of the street hawkers to be menacing, not just freindly banter, but malicious and frightening. Because of this we never ventured to the town again it was a horrific experience and we were not the only people to experience this.

However, the hotel is good value for money and I cannot fault any of the staff.
