The hotel has its own beach which is raked and smoothed over everyday. There is a fresh water pool which is full of fish and also a heated swimming pool. All of the hotel grounds are very well looked after and is just beautiful.

There are a few shops within the hotel - a perfume shop (had plenty of chats with the owner who is lovely), a handbag shop, a beauty shop/hairdressers, a jewelery shop, a gift shop and a general shop. You dont get hassled to go into them and they dont mind if you just have a browse.

It is just a short walk from the hotel to the main shopping part of Hurghada. All of the shops are on a main strip. Its just a pity that it is not a culture where you can just browse without buying. The marina is about at 20 minute walk through the town center and it is really pretty down there with some nice looking bars.

There are plenty of excursions available. Just be wary of them trying to sell you the boat trips - they will tell you they are taking you to 4 islands but there are only 2!

The service is what made our holiday amazing!

We did have an issue with another guest at the hotel. We brought it to the attention of the reception staff and they instantly involved the security and by the time we arrived back from our excursion the person in question had been escorted off the hotel grounds. They acted on it very quickly and we can not fault them on how they handled any of it.

Our rep Kaled was one of the best I have ever met. Very friendly and helpful. Always had time to have a chat with us and compare tans! He went the extra mile to make sure we got the best out of our stay so thank you!

The bar staff and restaurant staff were also amazing. Tables were cleared and made up quickly. Drinks appeared out of nowhere and they all seemed to remember what my favourite drink was! A big thank you to Mohammed (Sean) from the Floor 5 Lobby Bar who made our nights entertaining with his Irish impression and laugh. He even took the time to come and say goodbye which was nice.

I'd also like to say a big thank you to Ahmed the lifeguard. He always came to meet us at the towel kiosk, take our towels, find us the best spot on the island and make sure we had windbreakers. He would even come and move the sunloungers round in the afternoon to make sure we got the sun all day!

All of the staff took the time to say hello and also remembered my name which was a nice touch and we never saw an unhappy face once during our stay!

We stayed all inclusive and there was a good variety of food all buffet based. Breakfast was in the El Sol - make sure you visit the omlette chef who is very lovely! Lunch you can either go to the beach bar which does pizzas, kebabs, chips and burgers or to the main restaurant. For evening meals there was a different theme each night. We also went to the a la carte restaurant and the food was beautiful and made to order.

The entertainment was one of the best parts of our holiday! A massive thank you to the animation team for making our stay so much fun! There were activities during the day such as volleyball, water aerobics, darts which they would come up and down the beach to recruit for. Even if you didnt want to take part they would still come and have a chat and a laugh with you! In the evening there were shows such as a dance show, a fakir show, a cobra show etc. The club dances were fun and very catchy and I often got dragged up to dance. Shiref has a really good animation team and we cannot fault them as they were always in good spirits no matter what time of day! I really hope the boys Momo, Mido and John are still there when I next go back to visit!

We didnt have one of the refurbished rooms but the room was still good. It was spacious with twin beds, a flat screen tv, a mini fridge, adequate wardrobes and clothes space. The balcony had a lovely sea view with a lot of sunshine. The bathroom was a little tired but everything was kept very clean. We did have a problem with the plumbing for two days but as soon as we told reception it was fixed within the hour.

Im a believer that holidays are for relaxing so i did not use my mobile much. The hotel has wifi and cards available to use it but im not sure of the cost.

We travelled in January so it was lovely and warm but very windy. Make sure you get windbreakers round your sunloungers! It is chilly at night to so long trousers and jackets are often needed as it is their winter season!
