Hotel and Animation team
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AAlthough still being refurbished, the hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The was no real disturbance from refurbishment work. Food was generally of a very good standard - you need never go hungry. It was well cooked and there was plenty of it. The cakes were to die for.
Location
Right on the edge of town so you could go out shopping in the large shopping area. (You need to haggle hard and sy no firmly if you do not want the goods). Submarine boats are a great way to see the corals and marine life of the Red Sea.
Staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough. English was widely spoken so there was no problem with communication. Rooms were kept clean with clean towels etc as required. If there was ever a problem it was sorted immediatley. They want guests to return. A nice touch is that they refer to the hotel as your home.
Gastronomy
Food was plentiful and of a good standard. Even in winter with the hotel running at about a third capacity there were two good restaurants open (you must try the Arabian Nights one) and also an A La Carte as well as a snack bar on the beach. Good selection of bars and a disco.
Sport & Entertainment
The Animation team kept evryone happy on the beach and in the disco. Some sunbeds were a bit basic but there was no shortage. Pool are was excellent with its own bar.
You must visit thye disco to see the belly dancer, snake act, fakir (who was brilliant) and to watch the clever dancing.
Room
The room was immaculately clean with air-con and a good shower room. Tea and coffee provided with your own safe (free) and fridge (free). Well furnished in the room and on the balcony. Good sea views from most rooms. Telephone with outside line.
Tips and recommendations
Little to fault but a lot of steps so not brilliant for the disabled. My wife is disabled but we still managed OK
