Sunrise Holiday Resort - Hurghada
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AGreat Hotel even second time around, food is good and plenty of choice is offered, the beach bar serves pizza's, burgers and chips for those who would prefer to not have to go inside for lunch and miss the sun. The Hotel is un refurbishment at the moment but you wouldn't notice at all, no noise during the day or night. The Al a Carte Restaurant is well worth a visit so is the Aladin Restaurant where English guests can taste the Egyptian version of the Sunday Roast dinner - yum!!
Location
Fifteen minutes transfer from the airport, the Hotel is set within easy walking distance to Hurghada and on the beach, what more can you ask for? The Hotel has a swimming pool and access to the sea where kids can snorkel all day long, if your lucky you may even see the turtle who passes by every day or see the Dolphins. If you are looking to go on any trips make sure you visit Luxor on the 2 day trip and upgrade to the 5 star Hotel, you'll be glad you did.
We cannot fault this Hotel at all, all of the staff are very friendly and love the English guests, they all speak several different languages nothing is too much trouble, this year we were advised that the Hotel had introduced a red flag system on the beach - if you don't want to be pestered and just sun bathe ask for a red flag that tells the Spa staff etc that you do not want to be disturbed.
Gastronomy
The Hotel has four main restaurants in operation, plus the beach bar which serves pizza, burgers etc, all of the food area's are very well looked after everyone is looked after with the 5 stars the Hotel deserves.
Sport & Entertainment
The animation Team are excellent at bringing everyone together with Sherif heading up his team, Mando, Amy, Castella, MJ and Foxy who has just recently left, they put together good evening shows and catering for everyone, they even took us out to the Ministry of Sounds Aug 2011 (Wed 31st) and we all partied until 4 am, they ask everyone if they want to join in with Water Gym in the main pool or there's Volley ball on the beach, or you can play Fench Boules with Mando. Where else can you go on holiday where the sand is smoothed over each night? we were all very well looked after by Mohammed who looks after the Sunbeds.
Room
The rooms are bright and airy and cleaned every day, we have always been given a room with a Sea view and have always been happy with the size of the rooms, it's brilliant that the rooms have a digital safe and no deposit to pay before being able to use it - bonus!!. My daughter used the internet room a few times and we ordered on shopping on line so we didn't have to go out once we arrived home.
Tips and recommendations
This hotel is very good value for money and we will be returning, i wouldn't stay anywhere else, if you like hot weather you would be ok in the Summer months temperatures are around 38 - 44 degrees and if you go to Luxor expect temperatures of over 50 degrees, don't forget to barter with the locals it's all part of the fun.
