Van Der Valk Hotel Cuijk

The hotel is located outside the small town Cuijk about 40 km from Nijmegen. Proximity to the River Meuse and the mountain range Kraaijenbergse Plassen is a very popular weekend to bike riding. The A 73 runs right in front of the hotel, but that doesn't is too bothersome, as they were not that much traffic as our German highways. The small village Cuijk itself offers only little shopping opportunities. Also close the restaurants in the center, if the shops close (6:00 PM). Two larger supermarkets and a Aldi are available.

The welcome at reception was very friendly and the room was also before 2:00 pm . All the staff at the hotel spoke German. The room cleaning, however, was quite rough: The bathroom could have been cleaned better (spots on the shower door and on the counter at the sink).

The menu in the restaurant was sufficient, but a little upscale. We would have eaten there when we would have been served. After about 5 minutes after we sat down, we got the menu. Nothing happened after another 15 minutes. The next table ordered and received drinks. Across the table was cleared and also drinks be refilled. For us it was empty, so we left the restaurant. For breakfast there was coffee from the machine - not really a hit! Bread and rolls are typical Dutch: Tuffig! It took too long, sometimes until for example. meats refilled. The choice was limited: two sorts of cheese, cooked ham, roast, jam in small long life capsule thingies are left-. Also here the cleanness left a lot to be desired: tables were not the Wiedereindecken butt.

There was a fitness room, which we didn't use and not seen. In addition, bicycles awarded. Also we didn't use this offer and can meet can't say anything about it.

The rooms are very large (ca. 15 Square meters) and nicely furnished. That's about the only commendable. The TV is too small for the size. A mini bar was missing - even an empty fridge is not available. Glasses are also missing. There is a coffee facilities. However the cups so dirty, that like passed. The cover was lumpy!
