The hotel is quite big, several conference rooms the very attractive. The halls, toilets and the various lounges are clean, well maintained, and tastefully furnished. From young to old everything was represented, families with young children, couples, singles. Also many different nationalities were guests, of course, but also Dutch Danish, Americans and Germans. Unpleasant was the heat to the children roamed. The hotel's is from the conference/Restauranttrakt by a long, partially separated completely windowed hallways. As these without sun protection were sometimes Saunafeeling.

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Den Bosch close to the highway to a small lake. You can hear the highway is hardly in the trees are certainly the green are now in the summer. The place Vught has a small village center with several shops (AH, Blokker, several banks, drugstore, bars), accessible on foot in about 15 minutes away. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop, the bus ride away from the main railway station Den Bosch (in the center) is approximately 10 minutes. A day pass is only 3 euros per. P.. At the hotel, one could also for 7.50 euros per person a very good bike (with 7 courses) rental. We have our tour of the Bosch with the wheel. Like the rest of the Netherlands, there is separate from the main road trails everywhere, in the center we were after about 10 -15 minutes.

The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately not coping in the restaurant and some have incompetent. My request vinegar and oil was answered with "I don't know if we have them, I only serve". Since I am dutchwoman in Dutch and you asked for it, would not lack of language skills. We had booked - as many of the guests - a half board arrangement, the breakfast buffet and a 3 -course meal included. Anyway we had for the menu 2.5 hours, as the waiting between courses just too long (even for us, even though we need it in peace food). We ended up renting delicious amused by the messy, but I imagine that others would have any complaints about it. The guest in our neighboring table for example. The food was first the side dishes, cutlery smirked lack the he ate with his fingers. As for the flesh came, he had to ask for silverware, there was nobody noticed that he did not have one. It was also not enough staff available, but there were none sensible organization. The rooms were clean, but the balcony (a shared balcony for room) was dirty and the chairs broken.

There was a large restaurant with a lovely outdoor terrace. Also a bright breakfast room with an adjacent terrace to the lake, with about 6 tables. Unfortunately the terrace despite awning in full sun. In the spring, it was certainly pleasant, but at 26° it was too warm for us. The breakfast buffet has been a good experience (fresh fruit salad, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, different bread rolls and breads etc. ). The room was clean and comfortably furnished. Dinner was served in the restaurant or on the outdoor terrace. It is to be recommended to reserve a table. On the second night we missed. When we wanted to eat at 5 :30 pm all tables were reserved in the restaurant, we should have stayed in the lounge. Since the weather was so good we are on the terrace establishments, where we get the last small table in the shade. The quality of the evening meal was very good both nights. We had described as an HP arrangement. For lunch you had per course a selection of about 4-5 dishes. Interesting but was the name of the food. So my husband ordered a Lachscocktail, this turned out to be shrimp cocktail out. I had a meal as a salmon trout, salmon turned out. However, it is still very good and was nicely decorated.

The rooms are very large (ca. 20 m2), renovated and nicely decorated. The beds were 3ft the mattresses were good. The bathroom was also renovated and have shower also a bathtub. Only the hair dryer was noisy and didn't dried, so bring your own hair dryer! The room had a TV, a fridge, a telephone and a safe (free of charge). Also was luckily there was an air-conditioning as it would have been unbearable. The balcony door couldn't leave at night (as shared balcony). We had a business rooms, comfort rooms are also for coffee/tea making facilities.

Tips and recommendations

The value is very good (a half board arrangement cost 55,50 Euro per person). Den Bosch is a great city (as they said the best preserved medieval city in the Netherlands) with a very comfortable center. There are many terraces on Saturday night are fairly lively and a nice atmosphere. Worth seeing is the St. -Jans cathedral. Also go on a "Flüsterboot" about the binnendieze. The Bosch along canals for T. Under the town that with the Flüsterbooten busy. However it was recommendable, a drive before - on the internet - to book, as they are very popular and the weekends back in the summer months previously booked. A specialty from Den Bosch is the 'Bossche Bol", a large "sphere" made Brandteig, filled with cream and wrapped with a thick Schokoladenschicht (no couverture! ). There is the original Jan de Groot (the main station in the back just returned from, cross the road, small, quaint shop on the right hand side). At the saturday is a market in Den Bosch. Despite the flaws in the service we have put us in the hotel Vught felt very comfortable and we will definitely stay here again - again, in summer.
