Good Hotel on Mallorca *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ARecommendable hotel when somewant wanted it still.
Location
As often described already, this hotel was located at the beautiful Cala Mesquida directly bordering on the natural protected zone area.
Due to this area, it wasn't so crowded and relatively still. The connections to Cal Ratjada (Cala Rajada) were directly by bus in front of the hotel.
(Price per person 1,65 Eur per drive). Here there wasn't after many positive ratings not much more to write.
The employees were altogether very friendly and mostly spoke German very well. Whoever wanted to speak Spanish here, had a hard time:).
The requests were always quickly and friendly cared for. Already at our arrival everyone tried to meet our room wishes.
Here a large compliment.
Even at the pool and the pool bar we were friendly and courteously served.
Although the hotel was usually booked out in the off season, the waiters were always prompt. The employee expenses in this hotel were basically higher than in Cala Mesquida Club, Park or Resort.
Sadly we had a problem after a lightning flash, which caused a lot of electrical damage (telephones, elevators, TV, air conditioner, WLAN).
There were daily repairmen in the hotel working to replace the spare parts and slowly bring everything to working order.
Here I had wished a bit more service. There could have been for example an employee who could have gone through the several rooms to take a damage report, and to give the impression to the tourists, that one was trying to bring everything into working order.
(Emergency plan). Even we had to report the property damage to the insurance company, since this was paid by the hotel (acts of God). But this was with a certificate from the hotel no problem.

There was something here for everybody. An offer with variety at breakfast and supper buffet. (Lunch buffet we didn't use)
For breakfast there were small thermos jugs filled with coffee, which one could get at the buffet. So one didn't constantly have to get new coffee. The coffee machines were also available. Inspite of the full dining room, it was amazingly still.
A service as in the Caribbean, in which it was constantly refilled at the table, there was none. Finding this in Euorpe would be difficult.
For supper one could order a bottle of wine, with the room number printed and could be used for several days. The sauces were sadly not gluten free. In this area there was an improvement area. Gluten free and lactose free products were now being offered in many hotels (even in Spain).
If the meat wasn't the right temperature (roasts, turkey etc. which were freshly sliced and then were placed under a warming lamp). were gladly shortly fried. (Or one only took it when it was freshly refilled.)
The buffets were constantly controlled and refilled to the close.
Sport & Entertainment
The activities we didn't use. The fitness room was clean, but somewhat small. There were however handtowels and water offered for free. The treadmill should be repaired once, since it had a shaky speed. The contact with the puls sensors worked.
The shows were in order.
Room
The rooms were comfortably furnished but sadly somewhat thin walled. With considerate neighbors no problems, but when one took a whirl bath already at 7am it was already annoying.
We thought the handtowel servcie for the beach and pool towels was somewhat unusual.
The exchange was made either by the room service or at the reception. Why couldn't this be at the pool bar?
Tips and recommendations
The tip using coffee pads I could only agree. In the hotel they were too expensive (in Sept. 09, they were 12 Eur for 20 pads). The TV in our room had Scart, Chinch and VGA connections.
Whoever brought a laptop, could use this with own cable easier. One could look at the fotos better already before.
A rental car was better booked already in Germany. The rental cars on location were more expensive.
The spa in the hotel one should see. Zen-Mallorca offered really good massages (see www. zen-mallorca.com)
We had tried that at bad weather from the tipps from Holiday Check and we were mad we didn't use it before.
WLAN worked after the entrance number (from reception) in the area of the lobby and pool bar (free).
The minibar could be refilled with the supermarket bought drinks. (otherwise empty). A supermarket (the larger) belonged to Viva Hotels and Resorts (see screen at the register). The minibar was only minimum cooling and should when possible be filled with cool drinks.
A few tourists brought their drinks also to the pool. We offered ourselves a bit of luxury.
Forgetting that we used these hotels now in May/June and in September/October. Both sides had their attraction. In fall the other hotels were more empty.
We would certainly book this hotel again once. We enjoyed the hotel a lot inspite of the small difficulties.
