Thin Walls and Relaxing Refuge Together *

The name was program: Our suite was very large and spaciously designed (patio suite with safe and senseo inclusive). The chosen houses I recommend for the sun lovers on afternoons with pool view and evening entertainment is house 2. We were in house 5, there it was evenings more still, but during the day less sunny, since the pine trees stood in front of us and house 6. That was directly with seaview and due to that little privacy, but the royal suites were on top, even hardly to be beat. Since the reception manager had exactly recommended that empty room to us, don't worry about getting a wrong room.
CRITIC POINT: Thin walls, see below (2 suns decrease)

So, the house in general was in German and firm hands, hardly loud guests + the pool bar was decently served. The snack choice was however less convincing, however the high gloss printed menu and high price niveau.

Half board was very recommendable, since it was comfortable to stay on the area and there were hardly restaurants in the region.

The food in general was nothing for gourmets but everyone should be able to get full through a dessert on the dessert buffet.

Location

The location was remote, the swimming bay was sadly not as still as in the hotel, since the 3 sister hotels were mostly family bunkers, and except for 2 supermarkets + restaurants there wasn't anything special.

Absolutely rent a car in Germany too, we flew with Thomas Cook, but our travel agent got us a TUI car (Europcar) for 169./ week the cheapest type (KIA) and we got on location a great Yaris diesel!
---- don't drive to Cala Torta, with the rental car one landed in nirvana, and walking farther wasn't worth it, according to the hikers reports.

Cala Mesquida was a bad location to hike, and as a starting point for the excursions only at times, only hate chillen in the hotel and the swimming was great there...

Service

Complete team very nice and courteous, but 2 suns decrease for: The room cleaning ----at 8:15am was done as following:

Find an empty room by knocking, at every room, which didn't have a sign on the door hanging. Then the beds were shoved on the tiles, and that was done in the second floor so that one heard it on the ground floor very clearly and was very disturbing. As well as beating the toilet brush!!! The TOILETS see below! Then the balcony furniture was pushed back and forth for sweeping and that was disturbing as well, and daily it was annoying, since the patios were a refuge from the next door and upstairs 3rd World War...

The softly humming air conditioner and the off and on disappearing TV channels from SAT were very quickly after a short information put in use, which was very positive.

Gastronomy

Large dining room, not cafeteria style. Amazingingly still, and only on the first days at 7:30pm did we have to wait two minutes until a table was empty. Fast and trained staff did a great job. The drink prices without alcohol were in order, large beer and wine were in my opinion rather a 5*. Every morning and evening it was grilled at the buffet and the variety was sufficient for 14 days.
Mornings everyone could drink heavily since champagne was offered for breakfast, but also a lot of fruit juices, granola etc.
At 9:30 am the poppy seed rolls were all, ooohh, but they tasted so good! 1 sun decrease

Sport & Entertainment

Suns

The pool was a smasher, smelled off and on strongly like chlorine, but we didn't get a rash, and generally the tap water smelled like it. The pool chairs were comfortable and a few had been in better condition, but there were enough empty pool chairs to choose from.
The sunshades were good and firmly fastened in the ground, wind safe!

Generally the outdoor area was what the hotel lived from, a refuge from the hustle of the other hotels, a small decrease due to the half public path which separated the hotel, I must mention. Even our house 5 was located on this path including the kitchen back side and away from the sun, if one was on the wrong side. So ask the reception to show the location of the suite first.

The entertainment was a mistake, there was boule, ping pong, garden chess or even home trainer bikes in the shade.

Room

Also the flaw first of all: 2 suns decrease!

If the jakuzzi bathtubs were turned on, one was glad for all of the social flats at home in Germany, these thin walls as in the southern countries.....
The 10 year old area, one hadly noticed on the rooms, disregard the ant problems , and the furnishings were hairdryer, safe, senseo, bathrobes and slippers, 5 German TV channels on the 24 LCD, with a quiet minibar and a very hard bed were almost perfect.

Tips and recommendations

Maximum stay 14 days, otherwise soon the roof falls on your head. We played games and for without an IQ, 130 games along, but the shy guests under us sat rather bored at the bar to 9:30pm, and then there was mostly a nice entertainment of music, acrobats etc. Yes and the Wi was also too seldomly used. So consider if you want to do something every evening in the rooms, or generally in a very nice ordered half open bar evenings after evening sipping cocktails, since there was sadly nothing else in the region.
