Small, simple and cosy place to stay *

We deliberately chose a simple, small hotel/pension without any catering, in a quiet location west of the centre. It has 12 rooms, ours had two single beds pushed together, a small refrigerator, a hair-dryer, a TV (but only Greek. channels), a bathroom with shower and toilet, a balcony with seating and a clothes line. They had no table in the room, but on the balcony, and there were no cooking facilities, so no dishes, etc. At the front desk is a large terrace with some chairs and tables, where you can have breakfast (there was the possibility to order toast and coffee, etc., but we never did that).
Our room was clean, was cleaned every two days, after about five days the sheets were changed, however, there were no new towels, but we had our own anyway. Around the rooms you find a nice garden with flowers and olive trees, a small playground for the kids. During our stay the guests were very mixed, different nationalities, maximum age not higher than 50, some young people, but they were pretty quiet. There were also families with children. To the beach it took a maximum of two minutes, very nice and quiet location, as the hotel is located at the western end of the town. There is a sandy beach and at the edge of the water there are some small stones, but they do not hurt. The water is clean and clear. Restaurants and bars can be reached in about seven minutes, the centre in about 15 minutes. We highly recommend the tavern MOUSES, delicious food and it is easy on the wallet. It is close to the ferry terminal and has a nice view and playing facilities for children.
In order to explore the island or the area, I recommend renting a scooter. They're fun and affordable. No need for a car, since the island only has a perimeter of 115 km.

Overall, I would recommend the place. If you are looking for a quiet, simple and clean place to stay this is the place to go. We had a lot of fun and the value for money was good. The only drawback is that the manager only speaks Greek, but using hands and feet you can understand each other. However, the cleaning lady speaks English, which makes it a bit better.
If you are looking for holiday at the seaside and full of relaxation, you will find it in Thassos. Culturally there is little to find, but instead the many beautiful remote beaches attract. The weather was everything we hoped for, plenty of sun and warmth, but also a day of rain in ten days.
