Nice hotel a little outside Funchal *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Pestana grand is a wonderful hotel off the 'beaten path' in Funchal. It is located above a cliff and offers a great wide view of the ocean. Real complaint was the poor service and dirty tables in the breakfast restaurant. Here was clearly missing staff at peak times. Also we would have wished ourselves at least the sheets were changed within a week. The hotel offers to their own statement the largest pool landscape Madeira-even though I did not evaluate, he saw great from. I was just not in it. The parking garage of the hotel is free of charge for hotel guests, during the day but also in regular intervals a coach on behalf of the hotel to Funchal city. This shuttle service is free of charge and-despite rental car many times used. The surrounding area offers a new looking shopping center with a large variety of shops of all kind as well as any quantity of gastronomy. Around the hotel there are also many small restaurants with great food on the menu. Overall Madeira is unbedint worth a trip, I would recommend this hotel because of its location, the friendliness of the staff and the decor so good conscience.
