Best travel time

Victoria is known to have an Oceanic/ Marine west coast climate with hot summer and mild winters. Summers are quite warm with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 36°C; winters are somewhat colder with occasional rain and temperatures ranging from 3°C to 10°C. Spring and autumn becomes a little warmer however have some cold winds with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C.

Visa requirements

Depending on which country you come from you might need a visa, however when coming from most European countries a visa is not required to enter Canada. One has to bring a valid passport.

Other than the standard vaccinations there are no special vaccinations needed when travelling to Victoria.

The local public transportation system in Victoria is run by the “Victoria Regional Transit system” where you can travel via double decker buses, rail and local buses. All these different transportation services will allow you to easily rotate within the city or even go to areas located further away. It is also possible to hire a bicycle and bike around the city.

By plane

You can get into Victoria via plane as the city has its own airport “Victoria International Airport” which receives domestic and international flights coming in and out on a daily basis. From there different public transportation services enable to bring you into the city Centre. It is also possible to rent a car at the airport which should be ordered in advance.

By taxi

Taxis can be found at taxi stands, at the airport, on the road or can simply be ordered via the hotel or by calling the central taxi service.
