Sousse is the third largest in Tunisia city located right by the Mediterranean sea. The city itself has a population of around 200,000 people and has a very lively atmosphere. The city’s temperature can reach highs of 30 degrees and lows of 19 degrees during the year with the hottest months being June, July and August. The climate in Sousse is very mild in winter and hot in the summer making this destination perfect all year round. The humidity levels in Sousse are quite high averaging at around 69% humidity.

Traditions&Culture There is lots to see and do in Sousse all revolving around the medieval heart of this city. Sousse is considered to be one of the best seaward facing fortifications that the Arabs have ever built with its tall Ribat (tower) dominating the city’s skyline. The medina with its walls and fortifications is also definitely worth a visit as are the Roman ruins in the city. In 1988 the medina in Sousse was declared a UNESCO world heritage site. The city’s experiences lots of visitors a year with 1.2 million people coming to enjoy everything Sousse has to offer from history, beaches, nightclubs, casinos and fancy restaurants.
Plane: Monastir is the largest airport close to Sousse and is roughly 20 km away and is very easy to get to with trains running there every 20-30 minutes. The airport has many low cost airlines flying to it making it well connected to Europe. Train: Sousse is on the main train line with the capital Tunis in the north and Monastir in the south. The fares are reasonable, the trains come regularly and you can choose between grand/1st class or 2nd class depending on how you want to travel. Bus: The buses connect most of the cities in Tunisia together and are a great way to get around. The prices are lower than that of the trains and they can reach more destinations. The bus station is also located right next to the medina in Sousse so it is really convenient.
