Warnemünde is a Baltic coast municipality in the north of the city of Rostock in northern Germany. The currency is the Euro and the main language spoken is German, and English is sometimes understood here.

The town hall usually has some music events and shows, and some of the main food eaten in this area is fish, due to the locality with the Baltic Sea. The Warnemünde week and the Hanse Sail are two big events which take place in the summer here and usually attract many tourists. This town used to be located in the former GDR so some of the architecture still remains such as the lighthouse and Teepott

There is the Rostock airport, which is pretty close, however you can also fly to Hamburg then get the train to Rostock. If you are flying to Rostock airport you could even get a taxi to Warnemünde and it wouldn’t cost too much, or there is a train and bus service from the airport to Warnemünde. Hiring a car is a good idea if you want to explore the region around and a bit further out from Warnemünde and Rostock.

If you want to explore the surrounding area, hiring a car is a good idea or you can use the local bus services. Or if you are quite happy around the town of Rostock and Warnemünde, hiring a bike is a good way to get around as the local area is quite flat, or walking can be the best way to explore the town. There is also a good inter-city tram system operating in Rostock.
