Best travel time
Davos has four very distinctive seasons therefore the summers are warm and winters cold. It is a wonderful winter destination as during the winter it snows frequently and during the day the sun will be shining. During the summer it is quite hot and the weather is very good.

Entering Switzerland you do not need a visa, you will only need a valid passport.

Traditions and Culture
Davos is a town located between the Swiss Alps Mountain ranges Plessur and Albula. It is located at 1560 meters being the highest city in Europe. Davos is home to one of Switzerland’s biggest ski resorts. Davos is a very old town having already been inhabited by “Rhaeto-Romans” in 1213. The town is very rich in a calm and peaceful history and became an extremely popular winter destination for many tourists from 1970 onwards. It is tradition for Davos to host the Spengler Cup ice hockey tournament every year. The locals in Davos are very proud people of their country who are also extremely friendly and helpful. The Swiss inhabitants take great joy in their lives which can be seen by the festive scene in Davos and the whole of Switzerland.
Getting around
By bus
Davos has a very good transportation system just like the whole of Switzerland. It is possible to travel in Davos and around the whole of Switzerland via the “SBB” train system. Davos itself has a local bus service which operates in and around the city via various routes.
By plane
The closest airport to Davos is Zürich International Airport which receives international flights coming in and out on a daily basis. At the airport it is possible to rent a car by a variety of different car rental companies, these should however be reserved in advance.

The main sights worth seeing in Davos include the “Kirchner Museum Davos”, “Winter sports Museum”, “Vaillant Arena”, “The schatzalp” which is an alpine botanical garden and of course the unique views from the peak of mountains such as the “Sertigta” and the “Zügenschlucht”.

Some of the main events aside from all the winter sport events occurring throughout the year include: - O’Neil SB-JAM Davos a freestyle snowboarding event (December / January) - Young Artists in Concert (July / August) - International Hiking Rally ( September)

The local food in Davos consists of the typical Swiss food which includes specialties such as “Rösti”, “cheese Fondue”, “gratin”, “Raclette” and a dish with a variety of different cheese sorts.
