St. Anton am Arlberg is a very famous ski resort having even hosted the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2001. The resort also has a large number of off-piste routes which is very popular amongst good skiers and snowboarders. Initially St. Anton was a very old traditional farmer’s area and developed into a tourist destination in the 19th century. / Sights Of course the main things to do and worth seeing in St. Anton are the skiing resorts and the unique view on top of mountain peaks. Within the village itself there are many sight-seeing spots worth visiting such as at the old town where one can have an insight into the local lifestyle lead by the inhabitants. The Museum St. Anton am Arlberg gives an insight on the history of alpine skiing and the Arlberg region.

By bus

In St. Anton there are local buses which rotate within the town and there is even a free ski-bus which rotates from the hotel resorts to the ski area. In the ski area itself everything is accessible via lift and cable car.

By plane

The closest airport to St. Anton is in Innsbruck which is located about 100km away from the city center. From there you can either rent a car, or take the local train to the designated resort.
