Skiathos

Trip preparation

Hi all, Skiathos is an island with many natural beauties: Green pine forests, old olive trees, sandy white beaches, cliffs, clear blue water and much more. The southern side of the island has many beaches and is easy accessible by the main road from the town to Koukounaries (the last bus stop). The Northern part is wild and not easy to access but there very peaceful and relaxing. The West side with its pine forest and white sand reminds of a mixture of the Carribean and the french Atlantic coast. The east side is quite wild, with rough cliffs and deep blue water colours. Of course there also the small islands around Skiathos which can be accessed by boat from the old harbour. For sightseeing there is the old town of Kastro, the monastery Evangelistria, the old harbour, the remainings of the ancient village and the small churches scattered aroung the island.
