    Great location. Stones trhrow from train and metro stations. Short walk from shops, bars, restaurants, and many other attractions. Trandy Northern Quarter is close by with trendy independent shops, bars and cafes. China town is also close, as is the Arndale Centre and High Street with all the house hold shops. Bus station is 5 minutes walk from the hotel , with buses and trams which will take you to virtually anywhere in Greater Manchester. Art galleries and museums are easily accessible from this hotel.

    The big fuss they made about the 'warm welcome' they give you is laughable. The famous oven fresh cookie was lierally thrown at me from across the counter in a paper bag, and then there was no porter to help me with my heavy bags so I had to take them up myself in the lifts. However following this incident, I did find they redeemed themselves with good service. Although the free toiletries (which were lovely Crabtree and Evelyn) were not replenished every day, but when I called them for more they were happy to supply them. The concierge was helpful with how to get to places.

    Shower only, but big bathroom, with lovely mirror vto do my make-up at. Big comfy bed. Nice room with good city view . Wide screen T.V, which is also a computer, dvd/cd player, and hotel manual. No minibar, but small fridge, with complimentary water every day. Tea and Coffee facilities.

    A nice small gym, accessible 24 hours, with your hotel key card. Good facilities with cardio and weight machines and 4Music on a loop. Free wifi aceesible in the whole hotel.

    Great room as expected with lovely facilities . Main feature is the view (15th floor) which it had in spades but it the view was still of urban Manchester in the mist and drizzle !

Airy and light hotel. Close to the Picadilly rail station, 4 minute walk. Airy and light hotel, pleasant rooms and very friendly and pleasant staff. We will definitely use it again when we are in Manchester. read hotel review

I was generally happy with the stay at this hotel, and it certainly is based in a very central location within an easy reach to all the shopping areas and bars and clubs. However at the reception a man who was checking us in did not look as if he was very happy do welcome me and my partner. He did ask twice if we wanted one double bed as if this was something unusual. This definitely needs improving and the man needs more training. read hotel review

DoubleTree manages to be a business hotel chain with some extra charme... not only the signature hot chocolate chip cookie... also it is not a faceless and boring hotel like those you can find anywhere. read hotel review
