The hotel building is from 1780 and it has some old time charm left. For instance all the furniture is old except in the bar which is ultra modern. We stayed in the two-storey Royal Suite (#404) which can be combined to a penthouse suite (#503). It is recommended to get more privacy and to get both a jacuzzi (in #404) and a sauna (in #503) and a big roof terrace without neighbours. The staff was nice, the rooms were clean, Breakfast buffet. The usual plus scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. Everything was very tasty. Don't be surprised: In Riga there are no rolls. The coffee is excellent. The atmosphere in the breakfast room is pleasant. We had single rooms. They are usually not quite as nice as the normal double rooms, but it was ok. Everything a bit on old trimmed. We were greeted with there was something to drink, amp; raisin snacks waiting and condoms (? ). The rooms were very clean, service was good. The TV didn't work. … read more

The hotel is right next door to the Blackhead's House in the immediate vicinity of the Daugava and the historical old town with its interesting sidewalk cafes; parks; shops; restaurants and all within walking distance. Highly recommended ... The hotel's sushi bar ... Really delicious. =) Room was unfortunately very small and I had to share the balcony with the neighbors but not very dramatic. I noticed if you want a double room bay, the expected a suite ... A single room, however, is very very sparsely what I unfortunately a bit disappointed, within the furniture seemed much older than … read more

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and enjoyed it very much. We were able to a reasonable price the suite and thus, no wishes concerning our room (large room with sauna and whirlpool) open. This hotel is great with the bus 22 from the airport (journey time about 25 minutes) to reach, since in the immediate vicinity adequate bus station is located. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend a taxi ride. Furthermore, the hotel was right in the old town. This unproblematic sightseeing are possible. … read more

The exquisite and cosy four star “Hotel Garden Palace” opened its door in 2007. The hotel is located in the Old Town in a restored historic building that was originally constructed in 1780. Our guests are invited to enjoy the fine atmosphere of the hotel and its air of antiquity in our 60 comfortable rooms decorated in classic style. The rooms will meet all wishes and needs: starting from elegantly simple standard single rooms to the regal Royal Suite apartment spread over two floors.   Restaurant “Gardenia” – a favourite among our guests – is located in the inner courtyard of the hotel and features a pleasant summer terrace. While enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, you will be warmly welcomed to taste the most popular of European and Mediterranean wines and Latvian traditional cuisine. Meanwhile the modern „Secret Garden” bar offers the best coffee in town alongside the most refreshing cocktails masterfully prepared by our bartenders.   Among the hotel’s advantages one shall find not only the studied and elegant interior, hospitality and quality service, but also the convenient location at the very heart of Riga – the Old Town. Such landmarks as the House of Blackheads, Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, Riga St. Peter’s Church, Riga Cathedral and Latvian National Opera are located just a few steps away.   The hotel provides a perfect blend of true comfort, refined taste, cosiness and simple elegance that offers its guests the utmost relaxation, peace and harmony while travelling alone or together with family.   You are most welcome in Riga at “Hotel Garden Palace”!
