Met our needs very well

Lodging in the Uluru area has a variety of options, though they're all operated by the same company. There were three of us traveling so we selected a two-bedroom unit at the Emu Walk Apartments. We asked that the second bedroom have twins but it only had a double bed. We did not press the issue as the sofa worked fine for one of us since we only had a two-night stay. Our unit was a split-level with the second bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and dining area on the same level as the main entrance and then down a short staircase ... (4-5 steps) to the living area and master bedroom. We were excited to find a washer and dryer in the kitchen. The refrigerator is half-size which worked fine for us but it's something to take note of if you're planning a longer stay. We opted to make our breakfast each morning and had adequate skillets, toasters, plates, etc. to get the job done. There's an IGA grocery on the property and we were fortunate that it was just around the corner from our unit. Knowing we were going to the desert I had been a little concerned about whether or not the air conditioner would be able to keep up with the heat but for the third week in October it did an admirable job though it had to run almost continually during the daylight hours. Temperatures were running in the mid-30sC/mid-90sF while we were there and I imagine that deeper into the summer it might have a bit harder time keeping things cool. Fortunately the desert cools off quite a lot at night and that helps. One thing I somehow missed in all my reading about Uluru was the flies. This is not specific to this property, just something to be aware of. They are everywhere though if we opened and closed the door quickly they did not seem to try to come into the unit. The flies would congregate in large numbers on our windows but the staff did come and try to spray them but it only helped a little. Still, don't let the flies keep you from visiting! The wi-fi was okay though it could have used a boost. The staff was friendly though I did think it odd that at check-in time only one person was working the desk. There are limited flights into Ayers Rock airport and one would think that staff would be beefed up at times coinciding with flight arrivals and departures. The resorts offer a free airport shuttle though we chose to rent a car so we did not use it. While in this area one can find lodging from hostels, bare-bones hotel rooms all the way through luxury lodging. The Emu Walk Apartments are solidly in the middle and well worth the price. read hotel review

Emu Walk was fine

Emu Walk was fine for our group: me, my husband, father, and sister. The town was close enough to walk and there was a large parking lot for our car. We were disappointed in the Bough Tree Restaurant because the menu had changed, but the brochures had the old menu. We were looking forward to trying Australian kangaroo, emu, crocodile but none of those items were available. The staff did not tell us that. Other than that, we had a great time. read hotel review

Fantastic apartment at an exorbitant price

The apartment was very spacious, with 2 bedrooms, a living room, dining space and a full kitched. It was beautifully furnished and well-equipped. Check-in and check-out was slow and inefficient. It's probably the best value in Yulara but still the price is out of this world. read hotel review

The cheapest decent accommodation in Uluru Resort

We got the renovated 2-bedroom apartment with breakfast for the price before renovation so found it a really good deal as it is quite expensive there(accommodation, food, fuel, especially EXCURSIONS - so renting a car is by far the best option). Decent kitchen, huge lounge and TV with only a few channels though, no USB entry port so you couldn't watch your own movies. One bedroom was huge the other rather small but ok. It was at the ground floor and we did have a cockroach visit one day. You can use the pool from other hotels in the resort ... but I found the pool a bit dirty with some small white bits floating in the water. Otherwise very good, they provide towels at the pool. Eating out is a bit expensive but there are reasonable choices. If your breakfast is not included than the buffet breakfast costs $36 per person. read hotel review

Worn and too expensive.

In a rating from the year 2008 is the hotel as very worn described. In the 5 years since you seem not to have changed. The carpet in the room was to the often committed because of (to the door and into the bedroom) black dirt. The sofa is so old, that the edition in which sit on after back slip and you partly on the wooden frame sits. As television serves a röhrenbildschirm with estimated 15 inch diagonal, on a dresser diagonally in the room (which was a bit inconvenient was, because you very good the thick layer of ... dust behind it looks - obviously, since only once per year vacuumed.) Positive is, however, the size of the kitchen and refrigerator, even if we are also some things (like the besipiel the toaster) for hygenic reasons not used). The bed is relatively comfortable and clean. Towels were substantially available. The location in the area there were little to do (except of course the obligatory trips to uluru). One knows however the pool of the dessert garden hotels with use, if you are in the partly sloping tiles that didn't bother us. Add a comment on the check-in:if one travels with the airplane, you must be aware, that a complete two bus loads of guests (or more) at the same time in the hotel arrival. One should in the waiting time be prepared. Altogether one feels the stay very much, the hotel area was built: every australienbesucher the pflichtstation uluru on the program and must then forced absence of alternatives in the ayers rock resort. It is probably the durschschleusen as large crowds, presumably in the majority not plan, once again ago. During the typical two days of the stay should the visitors then as much money as possible with little effort leave out. The supermarket the water is expensive, is due to the location to understand. That warm days but all large bottles sold out and one obligatory with the twice as expensive half-liter bottles setting must, fits well into this picture. Conclusion: who because of ayers rock in the area is, can one or two nights thoroughly bearable, since one anyway a large part of the time on tour is. If you have a erholungstag extend me, i would go to another station of the trip. read hotel review

The resort, the emu walk hotel, is badly in need of renovation. Our carpet in the room had, for example, such a dirt/run marks, it would some people completely rout. The style of the 70er years - oh well, everything somehow functional ok, but very nice and cozy would be something different for my taste. Well i did not. In the kitchen, i would have for example in no case something cooking like (if good food to buy would have been!). Kaffeemachen was just. The pool (with dessert gardens) was great, the pleased me, but for example the long ways ... in the resort, for example to a restaurant the choice to be able to come, nervte quite and everything was very routistic aligned, including high prices. read hotel review
