I discovered this hotel on a cycle trip in Italy in 2011. Returning this year, it was a pleasure to see that this small hotel in its lush garden of olive trees is still as beautiful, tranquil & well-maintained as I remembered, with some plus! Though half of the hotel rooms have a balcony to the lake side, I took a room facing the garden as this was more than adequate, quieter and of excellent value. I found the service very good. No matter on what type of holiday or activities I was on, (like going to the Opera in ... Verona the last time, or to the World Expo 2015 in Milan this year), I always felt very well taken care of. The large breakfast buffet was of superior standard and besides the classic items it included freshjuices and fruits, italian salarmi, proscuitto and cheese. I even had eggs cooked to my choice. For me however, the highlight was the genuine Italian home cooked dinners, a pleasant and delicious surprise every night. For someone who has travelled through the whole of Italy for 6 months, the food was excellent. This time around after my daily cycling, exploring the spectacular Lake Garda or up the Monte Baldo, I indulged in the jacuzzi amidst the olive trees orswam in the lake, only a 5mins walk away. Though I am generally not a SPA person, I took the opportunity to relax in the large SPA area of Gardacqua. I thoroughly enjoyed the saline pools and the water massages (included free for all hotel guests. Great after a hard day of cycling!) The hotel also offers special outdoor-packages including canyoning, para-sailing, mountain biking and rafting, which I hope to try next time. All in all, I had a great holiday week here. I would surely recommend this hotel to both those who have been to Lake Garda before, or are visiting for the very first time.
