We enjoyed the christmas and the new year in this owner-managed hotel and can only good things to say. The staff is attentive, natural and friendly, which especially in the light of the eurokrise and their financial impact on the people not high enough be praised knows. Outstanding we found the fresh and qualitatively very high-quality meal with spices and herbs, which one with us in any restaurant, as unfortunately as' politically incorrect ' apply. Although from our point of view more than enough meat dishes, preferred some guests the thick steak at an external restaurant. For people, the healthy ... and efficient want to hold, this hotel is perfectly suitable. Very positive is the cleanliness. Given the standing wetterwechsels and the partly strong winds, it is no easy task, the resort in order to hold. Negative we noticed only a few of our fellow countrymen. So weighted a lady, that in the classes, no english spoken will. We have two weeks absolutely negative experience: in addition to a very high sports and educational level of coaches we could convince us, that they all speak english well. You should just their own lack of fitness not by the questionable arguments concealing. What the englischkompetenz is concerned, may in Germany very many trainers as well as restaurant employees, bus and taxi drivers or hairdressers on the level, we in the Madeira experienced, take an example. In the on-site gym offers a range of les mills classes offered. Under this system, we have for many years in Germany trained and were happy, so in the courses and competent treatment to have been. Surprisingly we were always the only guests in the courses. Our very special thanks to fábio, liliana, Ricardo and Tony, with joke and charm some from us' herausholten'. Despite the fantastic food we could our figure and are well-equipped, again in our tä kwon do training involved. If the level of cleanliness in the hotel not enough, can - a good condition, directly from the hotel from steep up and down jogging. Another positive detail, the mobility of guests guaranteed, the not very mobile: the express bus Funchal-caniço stops right in front of the hotel. Our conclusion: we have a beautiful holiday, which we love to recall. read hotel review

There is for me one to criticize: The selection of food is for a 4 star hotel very modest and for someone, not every day fish food a disaster (there was only one meat or poultry dish on the day). Activities such as hiking are companies on the ground. Here i recommend hiking with asi or Madeira explorer. A diving (manta diving center) and a mountanbikeverleih are available in the hotel. read hotel review

The Galosol Hotel has 4 stars and completely deserves very good evaluations. If you have to complain about something here, it will be of a very high level. I personally didn’t only like having coffee at breakfast and the hotel was badly soundproofed. But for all fans of diving who are looking for good value and a good diving base in the best location, in connection with a great hotel, this place is a must. Everything was very clean, all the staff very friendly and skilled, the breakfast buffet had a good choice, a very nice pool area (indoor and ... outdoor pool), the bus stop no more than 100 metres away, and shops and restaurants in a 5 minute radius, leaves nothing to be desired. read hotel review

We booked the trip as a last minute deal with TUI. The aim was an active holiday for a week in a pleasant climate. We had a rental car (can definitely be recommended - 75 Euros for 5 days were a great investment) and used the hotel only for sleeping and breakfast. In the evenings, maybe some sport and swimming in the sea. The double room at the best available rate was excellent, partial sea view from the road side (cul-de-sac but uphill), you can sometimes hear the noise (cars rarely drive along here, but if they do, then you ... can hear them). Street located in the direction of the entrance. Room was tidied every day. Room was a little dated, but we didn't mind at all. Unfortunately, I had to work for the first two days. Because that can always happen with me, I always book a hotel with a business lounge. In the one at the Galosol it was impossible to do any work. It was out of the way, but not suitable for working (couches and very low tables). I therefore moved to the pool bar. There is wireless internet access and the tables are much more pleasant. It wasn't very busy, so I was easily able to work there. In the summer, this would surely be very different. We were a bit disappointed by the pools. In a sports hotel I would have expected a pool in which you can swim properly (a 20-metre swimming pool at the very least). There are several pools: the one at the pool bar and Ondomar restaurant (outside) was small and curvy, maximum length maybe 8 metres. This is no good for a serious swimmer. The same is true for the pool at the sea. A further pool (angular, about 10 metres in length) is located in the fitness area. The chlorine smell, however, makes it impossible to swim there. I did not even stay there for 10 seconds. When you enter the room, you immediately have a scratching sensation in your lungs. We didn't go into the water at all. The fitness centre is ok, quite large for a hotel, especially with the squash courts. However, locals also came to train. Still, we always found space and did not need to wait for equipment to become available. Breakfast was extensive. It was the same every day - but since there was plenty of choice, we didn't mind. Apart from breakfast we never ate in the hotel (and have not regretted this decision). You are more flexible this way, do not have to be back at the hotel at a certain time and can eat during a tour. We can't comment on the quality of the food in the hotel, however, as vegetarians it would probably not have been easy (there are relatively few vegetarian options on Madeira). read hotel review

Rarely is a review for a hotel so heavily fallen! On the one hand, i have rarely so friendly and helpful staff of the hotel, on the other hand, i felt by the nevertheless quite aufwenige website of the hotel in some respects' deceived '! Here and there would be also times a renovation necessary! The carpet in the hallways was very worn and looks at some places very unappetizing! We have the galosol right as a saver with the TUI booked; that we no ' first class rooms' with super location was therefore quite clear. And is not part ... of my criticism on the room! Great i really liked the public: vital and sporting people from about 40 +. Mostly from roof and Scandinavia; a few guests from britain. Without problems one can with the hiking od. Sports clothing the breakfast arriving without appalled views harvest. read hotel review

    In things friendliness the hotel scored full. Whether reception service, staff in the restaurants... Here there are full marks. Great foreign language skills and always willing to help! Further so! Technician immediately to the place, as the safe not more to lock went! By the way a safe - a includierung would be very nice!

    The breakfast was good and delicious! Great fruit salad, the not only from melon was. Cheese, sausage, cake and yogurt were also times easily modified. We enjoyed it - particularly since such a breakfast on a mostly brits visited island rare to find. Here shows, that the guests were mainly from Germany come. Pancakes, bake beans and sausages but there are also... Further so! Less we liked the pizzeria! Service also here super friendly and quick... But what makes the pizzabäcker only? This did not much with a italian. Pizza to do. Much too much gravy and cheese; completely overloaded - probably well intentioned, but no pizza like it should be! Pool bar was not so inviting - little to no ambiance! Capoeiro pub is nice and cozy!

    As already several times mentioned only about 100 meters to the bus stop. From there you can either by the express bus relatively quickly after Funchal or with the 'normal' bus over the ' village = so Canico' in the capital; lasts stop longer and is very twisty. Unfortunately there are in c. de baixo countless inheritances of free current dogs... With intense sunshine smells the here and there already very unpleasant. The promenade from the Riu is now also not really a feast for the eyes! The way to the village is not attractive and offers little for the eye - but to improve their condition! Much empty in terms of restaurants and shops. This also applies to the village! In the Canico-center are perhaps 42 shops still 10 occupied. The whole place looks it up to a few exceptions rather dull from.

    As mentioned, we had a best price. Room. Location was in the lowest floor, so floor '-4' under the front desk. Was so far no problem, nice far from the fitness studio noise and start also without neighbors next door or above! Room and bathroom are generous. We didn't mind the aged look of the room and the tube tv was buzz was also no problem - for the news it was enough. It was clean! But also for a cheap room not is: In the bathroom were disgusting rust spots on the deckenpaneelen. When the room above us changed (noisy!) Leaked water through the panel. The mystery solution: the bucket (!) Between the paneleen and the concrete pavement was overflowed... There was a huge bucket in the cavity and started the waters of the broken pipe in the bathroom above us on!? At least, the engineer came immediately and we could without problems a room further drag. Why assigns such a room? This lack was not for a few days knows! The room cleaning was sadly not so 100%. Towel on the bidet was not replaced, drinking-water bottle not refilled, toilet paper not replenished... Luckily there was still tissues!

    Here there is unfortunately deduction. We had due to the internet appearance have a great sports area expected. The equipment was however to a large part of bygone time. The gives the video have a different impression... We were disappointed! If classes run one needs nearly earplugs... Partially find this in the squash court instead of... The blasts so, that you also in the lower area the corridors sounds (yes, they were the best-price-rooms!). The studio always well visited - cardiogeräte are then too little; tip: sa and so is nice and empty! Really bad i found the indoor pool! The tiles could need a high pressure wipers use and the small pool smells bad after chlorine. If then still water aerobics in the chill-out the sauna really lost. Somehow has nothing to do with a spa. We saw the 'garden sauna' in the atlantico looked at... In a tiny corner in the garden there was a 'garden', then an outdoor shower - that was it! Bathrobe are liable to pay the costs - sorry? Sporthotel? Changing rooms and shower area let time outside! In the spa, we are unfortunately not... At the entrance it smelled so strongly like incense, that i again turned off am! Take a picture! Maybe i just expected too much?

The hotel is directly located on a coastal rock with a fantastic view overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Caniço can be reached in approximately 2,5 kilometres and Funchal in about 10 kilometres. The stop for the normally scheduled public-transit bus is only 100 metres away. Within 12 kilometres or rather 8 kilometres Golf courses Santo da Serra and Palheiro can be reached by car. Sport and spa hotel among german management has a main building with 3 floors, 3 lifts, reception, lounge and main restaurant with non-smoking area. There is also a big sun terrace with café, bistro and pool bar. Also to be found on the terrace is the soft water pool with integrated children’s pool. Sunshades, sunloungers and bath towels are inclusive. By lift or rather by going upstairs you reach the in-house sea-water pool with additional pool at sea level. Sun lounges and towels are also inclusive there (according to disposability). At weekends we offer animation programm. Several times a week you can enjoy evening entertainment among other things live-music and folklore, video presentation as well as wellness lectures. Double rooms dispose of bathroom/WC (hair-dryer), phone, rental safe, mini bar, satellite TV (with german programm) as well as a balcony overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. On request a heater blower is available according to disposability. Suites for 2 persons are just equipped like double rooms with separate bedroom, comfortable lounge, air conditioning, Jacuzzi as well as balcony overlooking the ocean. Suites up to 4 persons offer the same standard like double rooms. Aditionally you will find a living room with kitchenette, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms/WC, air conditioning and a big terrace with seascape but without Jacuzzi. Rooms with a connecting door as well as handicapped accessible rooms can also be booked. Breakfast and dinner are served in buffet manner. Dinner with varied, diversified topics and vegetarian food (front-cooking) as well as breakfast can be taken in main restaurant Ondamar. Once a week a gala-buffet with appetizer will be served there. At “Dine Around” guests with demipension may join dinner (needs reservation and is on account) in the following 4 restaurants: pizzeria “Galosol” opposite to the hotel, ”Pfannkuchenhaus” with integrated playground as well as sea food restaurant “Atlantis“.
