  Situated 1 ½ kms from the historical centre of Funchal, in a residential area close to the main access roads, the Quintinha de São João provides its visitors with the ideal starting point for exploring every aspect of the island.

  The Quintinha de São João offers thirty-three rooms, six suites and three junior suites. In each room, there is a distinctive separation between the sleeping and living areas which gives off an expanse of spaciousness and comfort. From the terrace, it is possible to overlook the beautiful gardens of the hotel, and be totally engulfed by its grandeur. The decoration unites the traditional Madeiran embroidery with exclusively designed furnishings, majestically evoking an atmosphere of sophistication and immense comfort where the guests feel totally at home. The rooms are equipped with the most up-to-date facilities, namely air-conditioning/heating, safe, minibar, bathrobes, hairdryer, cable television, DVD, Wi-Fi internet access and direct telephone.

  The restaurant “A Morgadinha” is situated in a building connected to the Quintinha de São João. The architecture is traditionally Madeiran, and delights its visitors with a large variety of regional and international delicacies. The speciality of the house is Goan cuisine and, all this combined with professional yet personal service, assures a delicious meal in a welcoming ambiance. In the “Vasco da Gama” Bar, savour pleasurable moments and be refreshed by the many cocktails and specialities on offer.   The temperate climate of the island lends itself perfectly to the opportunity of leisure pursuits and relaxation. There are two heated swimming pools to choose from; the indoor or outdoor pool. Situated on the second floor of the main building, there is the newly enclosed indoor pool which provides a breathtaking view over the sea and mountains. The outdoor swimming pool is in the garden adjacent to the SPA and has its own bar facilities.
