Although this hotel has a pretty aspects around pool area, the rooms are very disappointing. They look as if they were built in the 70's and have not been touched since! The staff do their best to keep them clean but the rooms have deteriorated so badly that there is little they can do. The worst are the state of the bathrooms, from rotting wood which has been painted over, to the black grout around the shower which we feared might be black mould. After complaining to our rep. we upgraded to a deluxe room (which we had to pay ... extra for) which was not ready for 4 days as they where doing it up. We spent the next 5 days after moving into that room getting a leaking toilet fixed, (3 times in one day!) on the 5th day we had 6 men in our bathroom trying to repair it and did not have one hot shower the whole time we spent in that room, even though we complained every day. We where all inclusive but the food was poor and often dried out as if it had been put out from the previous day. We even had to ask for proper drinking glasses at meal times as we had to use plastic cups as if we were children! There was not even fresh cutlery for different courses. We were told they had been catering to Russians for many years and they where not bothered by good standards, now that the exchange rate for them is bad, the hotels are trying to get the British and Italians back, which will be difficult if standards do not improve. Although activities where advertised, they did not do any at all. read hotel review
  • Room
    1.0

The rooms and particularly the bathrooms were the biggest let down, very old and everything in poor condition, but the beds are huge, you could sleep 3 people. The air conditioning for the high temperatures are not strong enough. No coffee or mini bar facilities, there was a small fridge, safe was available in reception. Very small balcony. Cleanliness was ok but when the rooms are so poor there is very little the cleaners can do.

  • Gastronomy
    2.0

There is only one food hall. They gave you several hours dinning time but in reality you had to get there quite early as they did not replenish the food once it went. In the beginning the food was dried out and the variety was very poor. It was mainly vegetable and rice dishes with a couple of pasta sauces which never changed for the 2 weeks we were there. Gradually as more guests arrived they added a bit more variety but never expensive food like meat or fish dishes, even chicken and kebabs (which we got sick of) where only in small portions. The lack of glasses at meal times was particularly annoying until we complained. Having no clean cutlery for each course is not good. Staff are nice and if you are friendly to them they are lovely to you.

  • Service
    3.0

Staff were very friendly and the service improved once we complained. You really have to tell them ( in a nice way) if you are not happy and they will try their best to help. Most spoke quite good English and Italian. They decorate rooms with towels and flower petals for a good tip when you leave, if they see you around they often ask if room is clean enough for you. There was no laundry service. We had cards which we exchanged for beach towels as often as you wanted. Complaints to management seemed to be handled very well, and they seemed to get on with it quickly but in reality the problems were never really resolved properly.

  • Sport & Leisure
    1.0

Activities were none existent, even though they were advertised. It was their quiet period, but it was boring by the pool. They would put music on at various time. but it was always the same songs. Pool was reasonably clean but run down, with loose tiles around edges which we felt might be dangerous for children. The whole area is paved in dark slabs which can severely burn your feet with their high temperatures and there was never a life guard on duty. Towels were supplied and sun beds were free, even those on the private beach, but the beach ones were very old and tatty.

  • Location
    3.0

Approx. 20 minutes from airport by private taxi. About 10mins walk to their private beach which could only be used until sundown as they changed it to a restaurant, which was a shame as it would be lovely to spend evenings on the beach. Very much in the hub of Na'ama bay, the shops and bars were on our doorstep. Be warned, you do get hassled a lot. Excursions are mainly offered through the reps.
