For a stay in Madeira i found the hotel gorgulha ideal, in front of the hotel are the stops of autobusses to the center from Funchal and other cities on the island. The sea is also just a few meters away. For guests the swimming pool to use want are just two available. The hotel itself is a quite high, with madeirakacheln verkleideter concrete building. The rooms are really big and all feature a balcony with quite beautiful views on the sea or the mountains. The breakfast buffet left nothing to the imagination. The property has been built not renovated. The rooms are worn, basic and dark. The curtains on the windows and the balcony door couldn't be push aside. Bland light constantly shining through the energy saving a bit depressive charm. The facilities and sanitary installations of the bathroom lead to uses. With the cleanness is also. The breakfast buffet was very bad refilled. Similarly it also applies at night. During the evening meal and fingers empty plates were wegräumt. The room cleaning wasn't cleaned and very late. Choice of food limited to two menus. The wine was overpriced. The surroundings were very hectic. The rooms and the bathroom was very old and backwards. Located on a busy road. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The food was bland, and the saving grace was that there were very good restaurants nearby. The bar was hardly ever staffed and we had to keep asking the restaurant staff to serve us our drinks.The rooms were adequate but basic. There were no tea and coffee making facilities, and no hairdryer which is unusual these days. This attractive apartment hotel is situated in the resort centre of Funchal, only steps away from the turquoise blue sea, the inviting beach and the saltwater lido swimming pool. Links to the public transport system can be reached within 50 m of the hotel. The immediate vicinity offers a vast array of shopping facilities as well as numerous restaurants, various bars, pubs, cafes and many other entertainment facilities. The centre of Funchal is well worth a visit and lies around 3 km away thus making it possible to pay a visit on foot or by car. From here, guests will find plenty of interesting opportunities for recreational activities. Furthermore, the airport is around 23 km away.
Facilities
The modern apartment hotel comprises a total of 38 double rooms and 77 studios spread over 10 floors. The hotel offers access to various facilities including a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, a hotel safe and a lift.
