• What the hotel offers
  When legendary tour operator Sir Henry Lunn arrived in Adelboden at the head of the first organized ski-tourism group to visit Switzerland in 1903, the hotel – then known as the Grand Hotel Regina – was already the premier address in the village. Originally built in the late 19th century to provide bed and board to early Alpine thrill-seekers, it continued to welcome rosy-cheeked, rösti-munching guests until new owners arrived with plans for the ultimate makeover. Out went the tired interiors and functional bedrooms and in came a brand-new, design-led look. Renamed The Cambrian to reflect its owners' Welsh background – ‘Cambria’ is the Latin word for Wales – the hotel reopened its newly stylish doors in December 2007
• Location
  Situated amid the pristine scenery of the Swiss Alps, and with stunning mountain views in every direction, The Cambrian offers the kind of location that tense desk huggers the world over spend their days dreaming about. Whether you're here for the unsurpassed skiing on the slopes of the Bernese Oberland, to fill your lungs with all that clear, snow-tinged air in the forests and cow-flecked pastures of the surrounding hillsides, or simply to indulge in the hotel's high-end dining or unwind in its award-winning spa, you're sure to leave Adelboden in a relaxed and rejuvenated state.
• Accommodation
  We have 71 rooms altogether. All of them are en-suite and many of the suites have more than one shower or bathroom. Containing furniture from the likes of B&B Italia, Porada and Knoll International, as well as what was made locally, our bedrooms are the ultimate in comfort and style. All come with a flatscreen TV, DVD player and a minibar. The views from all our rooms are superb, particularly those facing south.
• Food and Drink
  Our chefs are dedicated to producing what we call new alpine cuisine: a fresh interpretation of mountain classics, making use of the finest seasonal ingredients sourced from within a few miles of Adelboden. Our unpretentious dishes are beautifully presented, and we want you to enjoy the look and smell of what’s on your plate – whether that’s a hearty, après-ski feast or a light, post-spa salad – as much as you will the taste. Our expert staff are always on hand to make recommendations from our extensive wine list. Scott’s Bar, located just off the lobby on the ground floor shook its first cocktail back in 2007. Open daily from 4pm to 1am, the 40-seat space is open to residents and non-residents alike and, with its blend of whimsical Alpine décor and the latest light installations, is the ideal spot for après-ski cocktails, pre-dinner aperitifs or maybe even a beer or two while watching major sporting events on its big-screen television. Visiting DJs regularly host parties in Scott’s Bar.
• Leisure
  Incorporating heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a well equipped gym, tranquil treatment rooms, a Finnish sauna with steam bath and rain shower, and a sleeping area, our Spa is the ultimate relaxation space. Our treatments are specially designed to soothe mind, body and spirit, and take a wholly holistic approach to wellbeing. Come down and put our expert therapists to the test – we guarantee that afterwards, by the time you’re floating in our outdoor hot pool, gazing at the snow-capped mountains on the other side of the valley, you’ll be feeling rejuvenated, revitalised and more laid-back than a cat in a pool of sunlight. To welcome families, our Children’s Room is a one-stop antidote to junior boredom. It is filled with toys and books, as well as a TV, DVD player, PlayStation and Wii console – DVDs and games are available from reception.

  When it comes to how you choose to spend your days and evenings at The Cambrian, anything goes… Our dedicated Guest Experience Coordinators will do their utmost to arrange whatever you’d like to do during your stay at Adelboden, and will even call you a couple of days before you arrive to see whether you’d like us to arrange any activities or itineraries. Once you’ve checked into the hotel, you only have to press the ‘Guest Experience’ button on your in-room telephone to effortlessly arrange anything from restaurant reservations and shopping trips to dog-sledding across a mountain plateau or even spending the night in an igloo.
