The hotel lies in downtown la. The neighborhood is apparently in night on foot dangerous. By car can however directly in the secure garage and to the hotel go, not at night so you onto the street should. The location offers the advantage in every direction to the sights quite central to be. The price for the hotel is affordable. This has naturally also its reason. The hotel was urspr. The hotel is very old and sees one also. I think it was once much better when it was still Best Western was. Now rather an emergency solution. Room we had to change the first room very vermschmutz were. Breakfast ( against an extra charge about 8 $/ it is absolutely not worth it. Cleanliness general very schumtzig. Fitness. The historic Mayfair is located on the edge downtown Los Angeles. A metro station and a bus station are nearby. Apart from that has downtown Los Angeles definitely not lots to offer. So if you in downtown descends, then the location due to the traffic connection reasonable. However it must be mentioned that, that for example the bus to Santa Monica well an hour.
The hotel has seen its best years ago era. Everything is dated, however are any major deficiencies from maps. Nevertheless do a facelift urgently not.

A good hotel. The Lobbs is quite impressive when you walk in to the hotel.
Lobby bar service (check-in/check-out, bell man) is very competent and helpful.
The general condition of the hotel was very good for the age, however, the service would have to work a little better. In some corners was filthy and the sheets were not 100% clean. However, the room service was every day and the bed was made, trash emptied and so on
The area around the hotel is not very good, and at night you should better take a taxi, or at least as a group on the … read more
