Our tenth vacation in Hotel Miravalle

This is a family-run hotel of some 40 rooms, ideally located directly on the Sella Ronda trail. Warm, personal reception, excellent kitchen, extensive breakfast buffet, free wellness, sauna etc. Free indoor parking. We have been coming there for the past ten years or more, in a 20 m2 room with bath, couch and two balconies. Guests are from various places, Italian, German, Czech, Ukraina. And we are Dutch. Mostly couples and families. (35 to 65 age range) Quiet clientele, we have never had any noise problems. The hotel is four-star, we paid € 130 per person for half board and ... we think the price-quality ratio is good. read hotel review

The hotel is directly on the Sella Ronda skiing trail, accessible ski's-on. Selva is well connected, about 30 km from the A1 Brenner-Modena highway. We have also taken the train to Innsbruck with bus transfer included. I know people fly to Innsbruck or Venice, but no personal experience. The ski area is Dolomiti Superski, 1.200 km of skiing trail, all on just one ski-pass, including the Marmolada glacier. Selva is the smallest of the three Val Gardena villages. There are restaurants, skiing shops, supermarket all in walking distance from the hotel. Excusions to Bolzano, a thriving university town at 30 km.

There is free wellness with regular and herbal sauna and Turkish bath. Additional wellness treatments can be booked at a charge (no experience) There is a small fitness room, a playrom for children and a television lounge. Rooms also have television and wifi at a nominal charge (10 Euro)

  • Service
    6.0

The hotel is family run. Very friendly and accommodating. Local staff are bilingual Italian and German, they also have English and one or two Russian/Servo-Croatian speakers. The rooms are cleaned every day, fresh towels, beds laid out for the night during dinner. No experience with additional services such as laundry or doctor. We have had few complaints over the years; suggestions and requests (an additional lamp in the room, a luncheon package for the day of departure) were dealt with swiftly and without charge.

  • Room
    6.0

Our (standard) room is about 20 m2, double bed, desk with chair, 3-seat (bed) couch with small table. Telephone, television, minibar, safe. Ample space for luggage and clothing. Separate bathroom with bath. Shower in the bath. Two balconies, ons sun one shadow. Three story, chalet-style building, refurbished in 2002?

  • Gastronomy
    6.0

There is one restaurant and a bar in the separate lobby. Food is excellent, Italian cuisine with South Tyrol specialties such as gulash, strudel. Salad buffet, antipasti, then choice from three primi piatti, pasta, risotto ans a soup. Then choice from three main courses, meat, fish and vegetarian and finally desert. Portions are modest, which we (65+) prefer. We get sasisfied, not stuffed. Except the salad buffet, the meal is served at the table. Good local wines, both white and red. The bar is amply stocked with both local and international beverages. Breakfast is a well stocked buffet. The atmosphere is friendly, somewhat formal. We leave an envelope with a tip ( 50 Euro or so) with the desk.

Immaculately presented with a warm professional welcome. We didn't arrive until midnight but they still laid a nice spread on for us. We were a party of nineteen adults from the UK on a walking trip. We were on a half board basis, we all thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely return. read hotel review

A lovely large twin bedroom with plenty of storage space, TV, telephone, safe, mini bar, sitting area, large wall mirror for getting ready. Bathrobes and slippers are provided as well as toiletries and a fab balcony with amazing views. We had a huge immaculate bathroom with separate bath, shower and even a bidet. Magnified mirror next to the sink and plenty of lovely fresh towels.

Great location, walking distance to town, shops, bars and restaurants. Five minutes walk to several lifts. You can get a free bus pass from reception to take you to other towns such as St Cristina and Ortisei which is worth a visit.

A lovely large, immaculate and well presented dining room. Breakfast; choice from fruit juices, healthy juices, cereals, fresh fruit, toast, fresh bread, croissants, meats, cheese, boiled eggs and 'proper' scrambled eggs cooked beautifully. Evening meal; you pre ordered at breakfast each morning for that evening. There was a lovely buffet salad bar with delicious different choices each night followed by usually a pasta course, soup, fish or meat course including a vegetarian choice then a lovely desert. Not large portions but beautifully presented and with four courses including salad bar you were more than content. As a party of nineteen people there wasn't one complaint. All the food was served piping hot with a professional manner but still with fun and a smile.

Very friendly staff. Buffet breakfast and dinner very good, something for everyone. The mattresses were a bit too hard to us, but rooms are great!. Good location for skiers, departure and arrival by ski directly at the hotel. No après ski and in the evening from 11:00 p. m. nothing more the matter, but that was ok for us, since we were with our friends there were. Felt very comfortable and can only recommend the hotel. read hotel review
