This hotel lies at the national park, very remote and because of 4*4 distance. It consists of single bungalows with all the bells and whistles. These are clean and spacious. Us disturbed the sink the shower door impeded. You should the front desk ask the restaurant to escort and not unduly as you told on arrival or we have noticed, as a group, was on the way before us, then a cobra was at the front desk and at night did a elephant. Elephants cross anyway the way. Here lives the jungle and the hotel itself for experience. The food … read more

We were in round trip and unfortunately only one night in the hotel. It pleased us everything very well, we would have liked to have stayed longer. We were in a bungalow accommodated, nearby to the front desk. As soon as it outside dark one must from the room pick up point, since it was some wild animals as outside gives ;-) everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Price are perfectly ok, one has also no other choice in the middle of national park. Definitely the safari 2 times, early in the morning and in the afternoon. There is lots … read more

Generally good hotel. Renovation before the short time the hotel has certainly upgraded. Safari-style kept, open architecture. Small bungalows as rooms with beautiful bathroom and furniture, however at the standard very small living room. Food is not exceptional but altogether good. The hotel staff are unfortunately not very pro active and accommodating. Because the hotel the only thing directly on the Yala National park, it has a monopoly. The staff inclines so maybe a little in addition, the service could be avoided. Despite all the hotel is for a short break as a starting point on safari in Yala park … read more

  • Location
Situated on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, the village borders the Yala Wildlife Sanctuary and the sea. Just 10 km from the town of Kirinda, 22 km from Tissa, and in close proximity to the historic town of Kataragama, it takes the concept of a nature resort to new heights. Two qualities of a dream holiday are brought together - adventure and relaxation. These two key ingredients are provided for by the close proximity of the hotel to the jungle and the sea.
  • Facilities
Shared facilities offered to guests include a hotel safe, a hairdressing salon, bar, restaurant and conference facilities. Room and laundry services are provided and guests can take advantage of the public Internet access.
  • Rooms
There are 61 chalets with animal-inspired interior décor, all set within the 10-acre wilderness stretching from a lagoon to the border of Palatupana-Kirinda beach, which boasts some of Sri Lanka's finest unspoiled sand dunes. There are 6 types of chalets including Fishermen’s, Beach, Round, Stilt, Traditional Village Chalets and the specialty Julian Suite. The 8 beach chalets, built on stilts, have the advantage of a balcony and a great position near the sand dunes but they are made of wood and therefore hotter than the other chalets, meaning the individually regulated air conditioning units are essential. Some love them, some prefer the cooler chalets. All chalets are fitted with air conditioning and have a private veranda, satellite TV, minibar, direct dial telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and a radio. The en suite bathrooms have showers and a hairdryer.
  • Sports/Entertainment
The large swimming pool is at its most pleasant in mid-afternoon when many residents are on safari and guests have it to themselves. There is also a poolside snack bar and facilities for playing pool or snooker.
  • How to get there
From Bandaranaike International Airport, travel southwards to the village, passing the metropolitan city of Colombo before reaching the historic town of Galle, which some scholars believe to be the Tarshish mentioned in the Old Testament. Continue along to the south coast and the village is there by the coast.
