The hotel area has gotten old. We have our vacation in a hotel suite with a view of the sea spent. The clientele is international. As disturbing I have the behavior by individual guests of the hotel in a night found, without taking account of their occupants dissipated and very noisy at night on a terrace party. The hotel has a great location in the middle of a green park. It is situated on a quiet side street on the outskirts of Lamai. Everything you need, supermarket, atm, restaurants etc. Is within walking distance. The guest structure was mixed. The plant is clean well maintained. read hotel review

    From the airport, it is about 30 minutes the small sandy beach is well kept and quiet - an oasis of tranquility from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng or Lamai.

The Renaissance koh samui is a beautiful area. The location is a bit off the beaten path, in a side street to the ring road. That pleased us well and we knew already before. The resort is not brand new but well maintained and therefore however wonderful grown. You feel like you're in a neat dschungelgarten. We had a always well cleaned double room (the maid service was a hit). The pool in front of our building was about 50 meters long (wonderful for swimming). On the sea front with direct access to the beach was a 2 - both ... very maintained! Had booked with breakfast, which was rich and good. But the best in Thailand the people are - greetings to the always helpful and nice staff Renaissance koh samui including german director - thank you for our lovely holiday! To good the latter a tip about eating out: after only about 200 m right direction ring road: j. r. Restaurant - good cheap thai cuisine and greetings to the competent football kenner mrem. Thang (he knows all about football - try it!). read hotel review

This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever been to. It starts at the check-in where the staff serves you cold towels and refreshing ice cream and finish at the dinner when the waiter already knows your name.     I tried out all the food outlets and I wasn't disappointed once. Especially the BBQ at the beach is a fantastic idea and it great fun to join. For once, the minibar in the rooms are not a complete rip off but actually very reasonable priced. This was a very positive surprise!

    It's a quiet spot and ideal to relax. The hotel offers a free shuttle transfer to the next village if you wish to enter the buzzing life of Koh Samui.

    The villas are spacious and has everything you need. Especially the very efficient a/c was a blessing so you would have a good night sleep. The size of the shower is really impressive.

    I was highly impressed by the attentive and amiable service of the staff. They all speak good English and after one day the pool staff already knew what I would order. Also, I really enjoyed the fresh food and cold towels served at pool and beach.

    IThe hotel has the only 50m pool on the island and it give you a good work out. The hotel has 2 bikes you can borrow and it's a great way to discover the place. Just be aware of the traffic! Waring a helmet is highly recommended.

The hotel is in a bay in the south-east of the island. In accordance with the 5 stars standard is the entrance and the hotel in the very clean and well-kept condition. Our rate had breakfast included. Guests were mostly older couples and families, many from Germany, Russia and China. Wi-fi was included. read hotel review

    The staff members were consistently very friendly and helpful. Everywhere one was with a smile and 'sawadee-kha' welcomes. Especially the breakfast was every wish from our eyes. One noticed also the preferences of the guest. The check-in we were greeted with a mangoeis welcoming and the staff was to us up to the rooms are not from the side and explained the services and benefits of the hotels. At the beach we had in our previous hotel better experiences. Here there was unfortunately already too few beach chairs (we were in the low season there). If the chairs but became free, they were not cleaned, dirty glasses were also beach chairs and there was no one around, to ask, whether we wanted to drink. Our room (garden villa with pool) was 1 time a day thoroughly cleaned, in the evening even a time for the night prepared (curtains to, blanket turned down, lights turned on, etc.). We had once in-room dining order, which within 20 minutes delivered. We were allowed the dishes afterwards for a pick-up on the terrace places. Minor flaws in the room (shower was slightly broken) were quickly and competently repaired.

    We had a so-called garden pool villa, a fairly large room/suite with its own terrace and pool. By 5 meters high ceiling looked the whole suite was huge. The pool and outdoor area were as the rooms were cleaned daily. All furniture and equipment was in perfect condition. The air conditioner was a bit to the problem, as you at night directly on the bed bliess, but you could see this manually regulate. It was missing to us really at nothing, and the negative reviews not reconstruct unfortunately. Everything was in accordance with 5 star standard clean and intact. If not, it was immediately dealt with. A small minus (but of a high standard): there were just too many light switches in the room, the sadly not labelled were. At night it was always a bit difficult to identify, which switch now really the lights constituted.

    The pool, both our own in the room, and the pool was always in perfect condition and clean. Towels were always provided. Beach was as already mentioned because of the small depth of the water not suitable for swimming. Unfortunately, there was not enough beach chairs, we had initially only on bean bags lower. Beach chairs and tables weren't always immediately cleared away and for the next guests, although enough staff around stood. Kayaks you could watch for free (probably the only thing that in the shallow water could use).

    The breakfast in the so-called ' banana leaf restaurant, was the ambience, service and quality of the food excellent. You could either air-conditioned inside or outside with a view of the sea sit down. We were a bit surprised, as small the premises were, found mostly a place. Nevertheless we asked us, as all guests in the high season probably here can find. The service was as already mentioned first class. Used dishes were immediately cleared, it was always asked, whether one still another coffee desires. Variety of food was small, but good quality ok. On the 5. day i had the nose a bit full of the nearly always same dishes, particularly felt 70 percent of the courts desserts were, but there was a variety of fruits (among other things. Passion fruit!) And fruit juices. The latter was a special highlight, as you freshly in bottles were, and you the delicious fruit juice together yourself could mix. We had a time the in-room dining taken into account. Our dishes arrived warm, but no table. So we all had plates on our in-room coffee table drop off, a bit awkward to eat. The food itself was alright, the price for german standards ok (1 appetizer, 2 main courses, 1 dessert converted 30 Euro). Another restaurant (the tawann restaurant) we had only once visited, had us with the sight of prices (expensive) but decided against it. Here one pays the view, the probably one of the most beautiful and most romantic on the island are. You dined right on the sea in fine dining. The hotel offers for each day specialities in one of the restaurants. So there was during our time, for example, 'angus beef night' or 'thai buffet'. In comparison to restaurants in the area but are these as expected right expensive.

    The hotel is in a book at the beginning of Lamai. It is by a approximately 500 meters long lane, which is near the ring-road is connected, to reach. The airport is about 25 minutes' drive away. To the busier streets lamai to arrive, one must already somewhat far (20-30 minutes). It pays off here rather to rent a scooter, the free shuttle service to use (does not drive unfortunately often) or to take a taxi. In the centre Lamai's it a whole load of restaurants, bars and other shops and market stalls, the especially in the evening inviting. The beach is, as already mentioned by other speakers, nice ruhin, however for bathing at low tide hardly suitably, since the water only ankle deep is. You have to go in to some extent deep water really long walk. Yet one of the rocky surface to create. For us it was so disappointing. However you can to avoid either to the southern beach of Lamai go, where the beach and the water again for bathing or north to Chaweng Beach, a bit more lively, but white fine-grained sand and clear, deep sea with waves.

This was our 2. holiday in the hotel, The hotel the marriot group and is within of 3 years ago totally outdated. First it must be mentioned that, i lead itself a hotel with restaurant in Germany in the three stars category, so what here you can unfortunately the guests not offer, we were often in Thailand, but such a bad condition, we experienced a long time! In every corner and edges the hotel is outdated, in other words, it is not properly maintained, everywhere schimmelt and rots the wood, whether it be in the restaurant or in the reception ... area. Wi-fi internet access and so on. Was completely okay, but that is standard in Thailand, there, even in the busch wi-fi! Lots of older people in the hotel, and russians, what here but know how to behave. read hotel review

    Rooms, oh well there are missing for me really the words, were the rooms 2 years ago perfect, they are now outdated old stalls. The size of the rooms ok, the tv a 40. lcd of Samsung also, and the large bed also, But since it stops unfortunately on, the bathroom is really the worst thing happened, here comes the whole floor high, in the shower rots the wood at the edge of the balcony as Otto, the plumbing fittings foul and rusting or collect before itself. The sink i believe it has already several attacks survived and is soon in 1000 parts together, hehe' Fixtures moldy and old, dusted was here already for a long time, please take a look the pictures on then you know what i mean. Everywhere bursts off, the wood rots, the tub on the balcony has algenbefall as the möhnesee lake... Marriot or Renaissance? In Paris yes, here no thank you!

    Friendliness and service excursion options are perfectly ok, but also this has seriously diminished, not at all as friendly and warm as 10 years ago. English can the staff as good as not at all, except of course taxi-thank you-please-and enoy your food Room cleaning a total catastrophe, washed not at all...     First for breakfast, good choice and definitely 5 stars, but the cleanliness at the buffet was Afrika-busch level, and yes i was in Afrika the bush and it was clean... Totally crowded with package tourists, unfortunately no atmosphere The rest of the dishes in the hotel are ok, but partly really very attached to the european taste, we only had 3 times in the hotel something to eat, as it is located outside the complex simply better lives.

    Now for the next big drawback, The pool is run down, old and really not the yellow of the egg, everywhere the finery from the joints, the plants are always bigger and obscure really everything, the decorative objects are full of lime around and mold, one notices simply that only roughly cleaned, but not well-kept.
