We were in february to the winter in northern germany to stop. Had rsd 2 weeks. Of which a week with excursions. Of course, no one on the weather a influence. Was partly somewhat cool, but in the sun hardly bearable (february). The hotel is with its 280 rooms not small, but there is no reason 'to complain about'. All great. 280 room vacation hotel, divided amongst 4 floors, hotel and outdoor facilities in a good state, unfortunately a part of the pool facility is blocked off due to reconstruction.     Hotel in the sparsely populated, peaceful north in a bay, a neighboring hotel within view, the closest bigger city (Mellieha) is a few kilometers away (of course there is a supermarket there, but there is also a small shop in the hotel that supplies guests with the most important things). Small beach directly by the hotel. If you do not want a rental car on Malta because of the left-hand driving, you can find a bus stop with frequent service from line buses 300m away. There is a boat dock directly by the hotel (trips to Comino-Blue Lagoon and Gozo are offered) ferry harbor for the car ferry to Gozo about 1 km away. The airport is about 1 hour away depending on the traffic.

    Hotel has several pools, only one is accessible due to construction work, it is heated. Small beach, loungers are in a bad condition. Entertainment was available, but is offered in a discreet and humorous manner. Spa area with a small indoor pool. Boat dock directly at the hotel, possibility to rent canoes, jetskis and pedal boats or to go on a boat tour towards Comino/Gozo.

    Hotel has several room types to offer, we had the 'Comfort Sea View' variation, probably the standard room. On the 2nd floor on the back of the hotel facing the parking lot, sea view, peaceful. Room size was big enough, furniture design somewhat outdated, beds are bad (very short, hard mattresses, you notice every single spring). Bathroom okay, sink unfortunately very close to the toilet - very tight!

    The positive thing is that you can speak English anywhere in the hotel without any problems. Service quality (friendliness included) in all areas (restaurant/bar/front desk) was unfortunately somewhat fluctuating, from friendly, funny and prompt service to completely unorganized or hotel employees completely ignoring the guests - everything was there. Room cleaning was almost never before 14:00 (one time shortly before five) and unfortunately very superficial.

The, from various documents suspected best location of the 4 * hotel, has been completely confirmed. N/w-sided with views of the islands of Gozo and Comino. The hotel has according to specification 280 room - sea and land. In summer, a spacious pool landscape with various facilities usable. The hotel management made a very good impression. Daily multifarious swept and cleaned - even the ways and areas of the grounds were cleaned. In the lobby there is free wireless internet in the room is liable to pay the costs. We had booked half-board. The average age in the course of ... the 2 weeks (20,12. To 3.1) only slightly from older to younger changed. Similarly the origin - mostly english and far eastern on mostly italian. At the end even the french and the proportion of infants gained.     There is a huge but divided - restaurant with flexible tischzusammenstellung, a large but weak bestühlte lobby and a bar with quite few seats, in the area also the evening meetings took place.     The extreme n/w-end of the island, this location as lonely describe (which we were looking for!). There is only one entrance from the far away thoroughfare. The nearest bus stop is on foot in about 10 minutes along the beach, past the diagonally across the bay hotel 'Riviera'. After the buses from the the ferry from/to Gozo drive past, one has - in theory (i will come back) - quite a lot of choice for the rest of the island. A rental car is, provided you had no problem with the left lane traffic, recommended. On the island Gozo you're definitely faster, than in valletta - not to mention the like for example marsaxlock. Attractive - at least for us and mostly at this time of the year - is the possibility, the environment too erwandern. Old wehrtürme, steep cliffs and picturesque bays.

    The beach is located right in front of the hotel. The journey time to the airport is difficult to quantify, it depends really on the mobile vehicle at! But between 45 minutes and one hour it.     Since i really picky, it is a little to my taste buds. It gave from chips about shell salad up to the super soft roast beef daily something else. For dessert are available every evening cakes, cakes, melon and ice cream available. Bread and rolls are completely okay. The meat is southern too typical. Every morning there were hard boiled eggs, fried eggs and scrambled eggs. Moreover, schokoladenflocken, inter alia, as well as cereals and yogurt. In addition there was a typical english. The quietly located and well-kept hotel with 280 rooms in the north of Malta we really liked and we can only recommend it. The negative reviews we can not confirm. Every day the rooms were thoroughly cleaned (even the balcony swept ) the food was always super delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful. During our holiday, there were mainly older guests, mostly couples in the hotel (age about 60-70 years). The high season is probably different. read hotel review

    The hotel is in the north of the island and from the airport in luqa you need about 45 minutes from the ferry to Gozo you can easily reach it on foot, until then it is about 2-3 kilometer along the sea. Right next to the hotel there is only the neighbor hotel 'Riviera'. A few more meters you can reach the bus stop. From there one comes well with the bus in 10 minutes in the next town mellieha. Also all other places on the island are easy and cheap with the bus to reach (daily map 2,60 Euro). Before the Hotel Riviera start small boats of provider awesome after Comino (10 € including höhlenbesichtigung, highly recommended) also a small school there. Directly next to the hotel's own beach is another provider for various water sports. Between the two hotels there was a small beach bar. Tip: briefly after the Hotel Riviera on the way to the bus stop is a supermarket, where you can with food and drink for a day trip to cover up can.

    The hotel has 2 restaurants: The main restaurant Horizon, where we every day a delicious breakfast and dinner in form of a buffet to have gotten. (we booked half-board) in the restaurant there are a indoor and outdoor dining on a terrace. From there one has a great view of the bay and the islands Gozo and Comino. The tables you could choose freely, there was always enough space. Breakfast times were from -7.30 until 10:00 a. m. and dinner from 18,30 until 9:30 p. m. And The close to the water, the 'al fresco' restaurant aalang -natural alang. (i can't say) Furthermore, there is a small pool bar and a bar in the entrance hall of the hotel. We only the food in Horizon-restaurant tested and can only recommend it. The meals were always freshly prepared and there is something there to satisfy everyone, also for vegetarians. Overall a good hotel. If the 4 stars not in all areas justified. The dinner is like more a mass feeding. The service is often overwhelmed. Kinderaniamtion and entertainment very good. It looks at closer inspection not more so as in the websites but still appealing and good. It should nevertheless in many places be renovated.     The hotel is situated on the northernmost tip of the island. Except a further hotel and the nearby ferry terminal to Gozo there is nothing. Airport transfer took about 40 minutes With the bus line is you in around an hour and a half at the other end of the island. Since Malta is so small and the airplanes from the north and south to the airport, you can hear every few minutes an airplane, but that is not really disturbing.     There was always enough food, seating high chairs, dishes etc. The staff is efficient and courteous, but you have to ask for your plates detention, otherwise it will be gone before you were done. The dishes were international and english. The cold buffet for the english is scary, the were often salads, not in our taste. Much desired remained. Vortagesresten. For children there was always something for everybody. There was tender meat dishes, tasty sauces, fish to steak. After a week the food repeated. The fresh salad is unfortunately always only from green lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. The selection of desserts is not so special. Cakes and pudding well, ice moderate, blander cheese with crackers but not at all. However - if you didn't delicious eats and get full it was your own fault.

    The rooms (comfort rooms) are big enough, even with two rollaway beds. Unfortunately there are no wardrobe in the hallway. The tv came from the last century. 35 centimeter tube. If you travel to another country and the national language cannot, the should at least english. And the one speaks in Malta also everywhere. The check-in we were upgraded to a suite and all-inclusive. Offered, but we did not consider necessary. Overall all of the staff were in the house very pleasant and accommodating. The sea is the first good 80 meters also for children flat enough. From the hotel area there are several opportunities to the reef for snorkelling. Just great! Clear water and many fish. The pools are unfortunately filled with salt water, and the salt is so high, that the eyes and nose very irritating. There are at least freshwater showers. Sunday came maltese families as locals. Then the pool area was overcrowded. At the hotel of the rules which the discipline on pool care you these guests unfortunately not and it is tolerated. Sunday therefore better only at the beach. The poolside restaurant is relatively expensive. The daily to use would like should book all inclusive.

The guests were very mixed, few youth, more families or couples 50 it was at our time mainly from england, italians, french, germans and a few never see any russians.

    The hotel is situated on the northernmost tip of the island. Except a further hotel and the nearby ferry terminal to Gozo there is nothing. Airport transfer took about 40 minutes With the bus line is you in around an hour and a half at the other end of the island. Bus-drive are simply, cheap and even recommendable for families with children. We have 4. 5,50 Euro for the day pass paid. There are very many modern buses in short intervals. Since Malta is so small and the airplanes from the north and south to the airport, you can hear every few minutes an airplane, but that is not really disturbing. There are no mosquitoes or other unpleasant insects.

    The hotel is as german described, except one front desk staff and the hausfotografen spoke however no german, but we not felt negatively. If you travel to another country and the national language cannot, the should at least english. And the one speaks in Malta also everywhere. The check-in we were upgraded to a suite and all-inclusive. Offered, but we did not consider necessary. Overall all of the staff were in the house very pleasant and accommodating.     The rooms (comfort rooms) are big enough, even with two rollaway beds. Unfortunately there are no wardrobe in the hallway. The tv came from the last century. 35 centimeter tube. Small refrigerator is available. The double beds are tight single beds. The auxiliary beds for the children but too soft. Our bathroom was spacious, had unfortunately no counter space and the mirrors were only dimly lit. As far as one in this humid climate now can get, it is also clean. The air conditioning system is mandatory. From afternoon it becomes otherwise unbearably hot in the room. The moist hot climate means, that even in the blazing sun towels on the balcony hardly any dry. We in the bath over night hung up and with the air conditioning. Dried. The windows offer good soundproofing. The hotel is opposite played until 23:00 very loud music, which we in the evening our balcony didn't use.

    There was always enough food, seating high chairs, dishes etc. The staff is efficient and courteous, but you have to ask for your plates detention, otherwise it will be gone before you were done. The dishes were international and english. The cold buffet for the english is scary, the were often salads, not in our taste. Much desired remained. Vortagesresten. For children there was always something for everybody. There was tender meat dishes, tasty sauces, fish to steak. After a week the food repeated. The fresh salad is unfortunately always only from green lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers. The selection of desserts is not so special. Cakes and pudding well, ice moderate, blander cheese with crackers but not at all. However-if you didn't delicious eats and full, it was your own fault.

The hotel is relatively big, but at the time we were there, not crowded. The state of the hotel was ok, could have been however better. The 4 star hotel, one can definitely not with 4 stars in central europe compare, but for a hotel in the south were the 4 stars ok. In the lobby there is a free wireless internet hotspot, who everywhere wi-fi could a login on the front desk (unfortunately very expensive). We had half board.     The entire staff speaks english, even the cleaning staff. You was always very friendly and helpful. The rooms were always cleaned if you wanted (sign on the door).

    Our room was ok. The decor was a little dated, the 'double bed' consisted of 2 normal, beds pushed together. There was a small tv (german channels: 3 satellite and ARD), a fridge, a balcony, an air conditioning, a safe and a telephone. The size of the room was adequate. The cleanliness we could not complain, someone a bit of a picky is but certainly find something not perfect cleaned. Our air conditioning had a small loss of water. From the reason is on night one of the ceiling linings runtergeflogen. The damage was immediately and fixed without problems.

    The hotel has 3 salzwasserschwimmbaden with maximally 1.40 meters depth of water. For small children certainly ideal (there is also no pumps on the pool walls), for swimmers probably less. The beach you should probably rather than sandbox designate. Swimming at the beach was not really possible there after about 15 meters away from the beach the boats anchored. At one of the pools there was a entrance into the sea, since the water was a bit deeper.

    In the hotel there were 2 restaurants and 3 bars. In the main restaurant with buffet, the food was ok. Fortunately, there was always enough food to choose from, some meals were not so great. The salad buffet was good, as well as the dessert buffet. There were always 1-2 pasta, fries, vegetables and different meat. The restaurant was clean, the waiters were very friendly. Unfortunately the food often very greasy or had simply no taste.

    The hotel is very far away. Over the beach promenade you can reach in about minutes a bus stop, the ferry to Gozo in about minutes. With the bus you need good 1.5 hours after Valetta. In the direct environment of the hotel is nothing. If you like quiet is ramla bay is certainly a good choice, if you like something to undertake would like should better look for another hotel.
