2.0 The hotel complex mediated the impression, that it since it opened no color more seen. The size of the room was enough for two people, but the general cleanliness, as well as the furniture but much to be desired. The closet hanging doors crooked. The furniture is the paint and the zweisitzige couch and chairs was dirtily with any stains. The breakfast offered (especially the neujahrsbrunch ) left nothing to be desired. Stay away from Center Parcs Het Heijderbos

Firstly, it is important that I make it clear that the people working for Center Parcs at Het Heijderbos are VERY pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. My complaint is not about them - it is about our overall stay - specifically the state of the cottage. I am recalling this from memory, and so there are probably many other things that will spring to mind later, but I think what I've recorded below is sufficient to make my point. Because of this experience, we will probably never consider a holiday at Center Parcs again. For us it ruined what should have ... been a well deserved break for my family in the Limburg region of The Netherlands (we're new to The Netherlands). Through the work I do, I can always make up any financial loss but I can never make up for lost time with my family - and that week at Center Parcs is truly lost. I have always heard good things about Center Parcs and so we decided to give it a try this year. There were no VIP cottages available so we booked the next best thing - a Premium Cottage for a week. When we arrived, we received the key and welcome pack at the gate. Everything seemed fine, and we were eager to start our first Center Parcs vacation. All of the excitement died the moment we unlocked the door to cottage 582. Compared to the promo video, the cottage was EXTREMELY disappointing, to put it mildly. 1. The musty smell as you entered was terrible. 2. In the "entrance hall", many of the coat pegs were broken off and the wall was noticeably discolored. 3. As you entered the dining area, you were greeted by horribly outdated and scuffed dining furniture, with yellowing/watermarked picture frames on the walls displaying dried leaves. 4. This was matched by an equally outdated lounge with a dirty and uncomfortable lounge suite. 5. The open hearth fireplace was tiny but we used it with wood blocks from the shop to help get rid of the smell in the cottage. 6. The small flat screen TV was dirty and had an ancient media/DVD player attached to it. The USB drive we brought along could not be read through the USB uplink on the DVD player rendering it useless. The USB port on the TV worked better. 7. The picture frame in the lounge had no glass and what was left of the dried leaves that it was meant to display were in the last stages of decay. 8. The windows had to be opened immediately to help with the smell and it stayed open during our entire stay. 9. The laminate floor in the lounge seemed like the top layer (of vinyl?) was peeling off where the chair legs had dug into it. 10. The floor under the chairs seemed like they had never been swept. 11. The kitchen cupboard where all the crockery was kept would not close - The top hinge on the right hand side door was broken causing the door to hang. 12. The kitchen floor and cupboard under the sink (where the coffee machine was kept) was badly worn and scuffed. 13. The bathroom was clean, but it had seen better days. The water pressure in the shower was extremely weak and you had to stand very close to the wall to get semi decent use out of it. The design of the bath did not help either - If you look at the bath, you will notice the shower is at the narrow end of the bath making it awkward to stand there. The skylight was dirty and really needed a clean. 14. The main bedroom's carpet smelled like wet dog. When it rained, there was a very worrying dripping sound in the ceiling above the bed, near the window. The second TV is an old style portable CRT device. 15. The second bedroom had a faulty power plug. The carpet underneath the beds were dirty. The cupboards were very dusty and had spiders in them. 16. In the 3rd bedroom, the rail on the top bunk bed was too big and was only tied on one end so it just hung to one side. 17. The toilet/wc had cobwebs in it and spiders. After we "discovered" our disgusting cottage, I thought there had been a mistake so I immediately headed down to reception to clarify that we booked a "Premium Cottage" - Unbelievably, they assured me that 582 was a Premium Cottage. I asked them to check if a VIP cottage was available so that I could upgrade (at any cost), but unfortunately there were none. We even tweeted about our shock to @centerparcsfr - they tweeted back the next day saying that we should contact reception. We queued at reception (as you have to) thinking that a solution had been found, but sadly nothing had changed. I faithfully kept checking back with reception while we stayed there to see if a VIP cottage was available - we eventually left Het Heijderbos a day earlier than planned - utterly disappointed read hotel review

We have stayed in many Centerparcs, now we have closed the chapter. The park itself is nice, but you are in my opinion the other houses the eden bungalows neglected. The swimming pool was also unbearably crowded on the weekends, was not good, not bad. Also the other attractions were always crowded. So you can not relax. We had a 'renovated!' Vip bungalow, the bathrooms were ok. It smells of urine in the toilet and but still in the hallway. The typical Centerparc odor is still present. The furniture on the terrace were totally dirty and not usable. The windows ... not cleaned forever. If you ran on socks were black from the bottom. Not nice, if you have a baby in krabbelalter with. I can not recommend the park. For the price you have to expect more. read hotel review

The bungalow was quite musty and old fashioned, carpet, tiles, skylights, etc. everything was a bit old. The bedding was clean but totally worn out. the marketdome very nice, lots of plants, to fish, turtles and parrots. The culinary offer was extensive but all in all everything was quite expensive. Only the booked in advance breakfast buffet is thoroughly recommended. Clean, varied and there was something for every taste. No rush and no crowds. Missing things were immediately again filled up. The pool unfortunately totally overcrowded and far too small for the many guests. If you are unlucky enough you ... didn't get a seat! There is also only plastic chairs and no chairs. Relaxation is unfortunately nil return. The leisure facilities are actually largely, unfortunately, many devices run down or even broken. The dschungeldome is actually great, but also here too crowded. Tip: free toppings coupons use, you can different activities free for example Bowling, Midget Golf beforementioned. Conclusion: much too much money for little money spent. read hotel review

We had a freshly renovated vip bungalow and this was really nice. In the toilets are now finally a 2. sink, the living room was very comfortable and the bedroom has a 2. tv and box-spring beds. The large bathroom with rainshower shower, bath with jacuzzi and infra-red sauna was really great! Otherwise this hotel is very old and everything is really totally overpriced; shortly after gennep or goch (d) out, for some shopping. But the relaxation factor is really good, as in the entire area but was quite quiet, variation you always in the Market Dom, in the swimming ... paradise or at the bar with Bowling (1 hour for 25 Euro). read hotel review

Het Heijderbos is one of the older center parks, but adequate and clean for a couple of days-) There are bungalows in different variants, this time we have a comfort - the simplest bungalowtyp dialed (number 876) - since we only a weekend and in the Aqua Mundo and jungle dome wanted to spend (admission of the two attractions included in the price). Despite the simple amenities our bungalow everything you need; a clean bathroom with bathtub, a small kitchen with a kettle, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator, stove and microwave. The beds were surprisingly not worn out and the ... crib was wood and clean. The terrace was a small stream back. We were in the morning by the ducks woken up-) From the clientele, there were many families with infants were represented, not necessarily on monday in the school had. read hotel review

We were in 1.5 hours from Dortmund in heijen, despite traffic so very quickly. When shopping you can Venlo highly recommend. In the immediate area for reitbegeisterte a riding stable. In the park itself there are several restaurants, a foodstore, a toy and clothing store. The Aqua Mundo, the jungle dome and a petting zoo are also always well visited.

  • Gastronomy
    4.0

Pizza and pasta, a grill, the market restaurant, a café and a pfannekuchenhaus and a diner in Het Heijderbos. The meals are average, nothing special but also not bad. Costs are relatively high. We have for example for 2 adults, 1 ki and a baby each had a drinks in the market restaurant 75, - paid... The but one drives also not always there. You could also prepare your own food.

  • Sport & Leisure

There is a weekly schedule on arrival, there are the activities for 1 week on it. Midget Golf, pedal boating, diving, cycling... There were enough to discover. For children there is also arrangements which we this time did not use however. The swimming pool and the jungle are well maintained. The pool even has as one of the best in Holland truncated.

We liked it in Het Heijderbos overall very good. Pool and jungle dome we found great. %singlelinebreak % We were once in the restaurant (grill) food and found it mostly tasty. %singlelinebreak % However, the rooms are very thin and the mattresses rather worn out. %singlelinebreak % We had a 8er bungalow and were out of the way (about 12 minutes walk), which wasn't so great. The 8er bungalows are all furthest away. %singlelinebreak % We enjoyed the hours quite irritated/angry. Jungle dome is only until 17 hours open, on sunday only starting from 11 o'clock and monday (on hauptan ... and departure day) he has completely closed. We were often closed doors, one should thus exactly on the times make sure. The pool makes also only around 10 o'clock on. %singlelinebreak % Our son is in the jungle dome quite violently on the head and had strong schürwunden in the face. Unfortunately no prison wardens find. There was no first aid kit/paper towels etc. From the kiosk/ cafedame we have at least attendants were by you eat ice cream. For such a big 'indoor playground' quite strange and annoying. Surely it is not the first child with a wound defendendo. In the swimming pool, however, observe four people a water slide. Strange personalverteilung. read hotel review

Enjoying a peaceful location in the delightful province of Limburg, Center Parcs Het Heijderbos is surrounded by woodland and lakes.
